Mixed feelings about this place. Only 3 tables available in the "open section" when we arrived. A tiny table for 2, a booth by the window (still dirty) and a table for 8-10. Waitress said we should sit wherever we liked. I said, "that booth would be nice". She said, "Ugh, it's very dirty". Since she didn't offer to get it cleaned, I chose the table for 2. Then we were brought the regular menus (not paper disposable, as currently required due to Covid regulations). We ordered things we would normally order at a seafood restaurant. When our food arrived we had to call the waitress back to tell her we didn't have silverware. She returned with silverware wrapped in a paper napkin, but for some reason decided to also bring us a napkin dispenser (touched by who knows how many people) to leave on our tiny table. The fried shrimp and baked potato were delicious. I would order them again. The red sauce was ketchup, no spice and/or horseradish. The crab cake smelled like taco meat when she sat it down. I love tacos, but not on my crab cake. It had so much cumin in it, it didn't even resemble a crab cake. The waitress said they make the crab cakes from scratch and the spice is not always the same. Very disappointed in that. I finished my meal without anything to drink and when she brought the check, she asked if we needed any more water. Not sure we...
Read moreThe biggest pro about this place might be the waitstaff - they're always friendly and lovely, and are the perfect amount of hands-on without hovering. The food comes quick and hot and in the summer they'll ask if you'd like your icy beverage to keep you cool on the road.
The menu has lots of variety and they have daily specials that might be unlisted on the menu but catch them on the signs near the door. The seafood itself has an appetizingly fresh flavor and the portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming. We've tried at least five or six dishes here and have yet to have any complaints - it's always been delicious and hearty.
Seeing pho on their menu was a bit of a surprise, and the sausage floating on top when it arrived was equally unexpected. It was not traditional pho as I've seen it done - with sprouts, limes, and cilantro offered with fish sauce and sriracha - but was still very good and had that quintessential pho broth goodness.
Overall this is a cozy, local seafood stop that is perfect for lunch or dinner, especially if you're with a small group of friends and would like to talk and...
Read moreHad a terrible experience today for the first time. The owner was not just unprofessional, but disrespected both, my husband and myself. I had n3ver experienced such poor customer service in Victoria since I moved here back in 1993. I asked why I was getting popcorn ship instead 9f the regular decent size shrimp I normally get with my order and this man's explanation was not just innapropriate, but he was very rude about it and pretty much told me that it sucked for me because sometimes customers will just get crap for food if that's all the have available...What a dissapounyment. He also told his witness to tell us that since we questioned his poor explanation we could no longer go back at this place...St. even if you gave us free food, we would not go back to your hotrible b...
