The New Rodeo — Restaurant in Victoria

Great place. Delicious and tasty, large portions, great prices, good service, and opens late. I wasn't excited over the asthetic of the beef fajitas and the rice is underseasoned. But they do have the best beef caldo I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned beef enchiladas.

I do have a big concern that I don't see them practicing the 6 feet social distance. People should not be sitting in adjacent booths especially with low back seats. They should mark off every other table and not allow customers to sit wherever they want to. A couple sat down in the next booth. That makes one of the couple only 2 feet distance away from my family member who was in the adjacent seat.

Checking out is a bit unusual. They don't bring you the check. You'll have to go to the register and they will ring you up there. Since this is a small family run business, if you are using a credit card, expect the bank issued convenience fee be added to your bill (same as Ramsey's...

I knew it was gonna be good as soon as saw the menu. Every item on the menu has a color picture of the actual dish which is really helpful when you're not sure what to order. The waitress at first seemed a bit distracted but in her defense, she was the only one that early in the morning. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it felt like more of a diner as opposed to just a typical restaurant. A group of about 8 elderly men,who seemed to be life-long friends, enjoyed chatting with eachother while having coffee. It gave the place a sence of history. The price was not bad at all considering the size of the servings. I had the chilaquiles con huevo and it was accompanied with refried beans (not too greasy which was good) and potatos. Delicious! Habitual eater here, for a Tex mex restaurant, the quality is nice. Their flour tortillas are excellent and their chips and salsa are great as always. They have the best ceviche in town, where everyone else either uses the wrong fish or cuts in pieces too big. I like their staff. Regardless of which language they will attend to you in the most attentive manner. The atmosphere looks pretty good, having installed new seats, and a new bar, but admittedly the building is dated, and their bathroom, while okay, could use an overhaul.
