Three stars is not a negative review! Just getting that out of the way. This is a run of the mill texas bbq joint, its everything you'd expect. Nothing bad here taste wise. Standard bbq experience smoked chicken is tasty, brisket has a nice smoke ring, but lacks a robust bark. Pork ribs nice and fatty , I will say the ribs were cooked to perfection. They are not fall of the bone but supply and pulls away easily. Sorry to break it to you home pitmasters but fall off the bone is over cooked on ribs. Dont take my word for it though ask any comp bbq pitmaster. Sorry I got off track there, ribs here cooked perfect, nice rub as well. As for side I only tried two but there were alot, the usual suspects and some I'm not used to seeing. I got the roast potatoes which i hardly ever see at a bbq joint. They were great. My other side was the pea salad. While it is the usually recipe theirs had a more acidic bit to it, maybe vinegar; im unsure. Needless to say this little twist was amazing and brought a brightness to the dish that I'm not familiar with. I really enjoyed it. I didnt really try the sauce, but I appreciate that it came on the side. All in all good bbq, cant really fault them for anything. The atmosphere was unique and I enjoyed it. Foreign and domestic currencies framed on the wall. Look for the national park two dollars Bill's. I have never seen them before and they are very cool. Replica antique, or real lol; on the walls aswell. Just a neat little dining area that's made diffrent by the cool Bill's all over the back. I will say the tv was a little...
Read moreWe’ve driven past Uncle Mutt’s Barbecue in Victoria hundreds of times and never thought to stop in. Recently, a friend recommended it to us, so we decided to give it a try—and we are so glad we did!
The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food? Absolutely amazing. I had the barbecue chicken, which was perfectly moist—not a bit dry—and the mashed potatoes were to die for. My husband went for the brisket plate, and he was just delighted. The brisket was moist, flavorful, and not dried out—a rarity when it comes to barbecue!
The portions were generous, and the prices were competitive—definitely good value for the quality. There’s plenty of table seating, and they also have a drive-thru if you’re in a hurry. Best of all, it’s a family-owned and operated business, which makes supporting them feel even better.
If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check out Uncle Mutt’s. Support your local family-owned businesses. We love it—excellent food and a great experience all around!

Read moreImagine this, you work12hrs, and coming to a bbq restaurant with the thoughts of getting your food to go. You place an order, with a broken speaker, which should of been a sign from the start. The man comes on screaming at you. You continue placing order, and drive around. You wait, 3 or 4 min just so they can swipe your card and as you wait, the guy mumbles from what I can hear, is they are trying to make sure the chopped bbq is still good. Another 5 min goes by and then I notice, the 2 people working are now just staring and laughing. So I stare back and it seems as they are not going to give me my order. So finally i gave up and just drove away. I have no clue to what kind of clowns this place hires but all i know, is that this place made me feel uncomfortable with the individuals preparing my food. I will not ever go back. Also will wanting a...
