This place USED to be my favorite of all the locations in the high desert. But now, they are the worst! Simply due to the quality of food. The only reason why I’m giving it 2 stars is because the service is still good. But ever since Juan retired, this location has gone down in flames. I came 3 times…after Juan left, hoping that the food quality would get better…but it hasn’t. Juan made sure the food was cooked and prepared to perfection. He actually took pride in leaving the customers satisfied and with a smile. The cooks now just prepare the food and put it out…not even considering or caring about the appearance or taste. Everything from the omelets, hash browns, grits…even the biscuits and gravy are just nasty. I used to eat all my food when I went to Mollies on Mojave. Now, I just eat a few bites and leave. It’s really sad that ONE PERSON, can make all the difference in the world. Diane, I know you been owning the place for years…and I know Juan was your goldmine and he’s definitely put the time and effort in….but if you can offer him double his previous salary and hire him back, I would appreciate it. The one on Greentree isn’t all that and I don’t have time to go to the ones on Smokebomb and definitely not Helendale. Mojave is right by my house and believe it or not, it’s the best location to me because of the hotel/cafe coffee shop feel and great memories. I will NOT be frequenting this location or any location ever again unless…..you guessed it…. JUAN CHAVEZ RETURNS! Let’s face it, HE MADE THIS FRANCHISE A SUCCESS!!!! He’s the best damn cook ever and Diane, you should definitely be grateful he gave you all those faithful and prosperous years. He’s the primary reason for your success…and food quality is what keeps customers...
Read moreI know leaving a photo of an empty plate seems counter to a food review but the empty plate is my review. I did everything but lick the plate when I was done eating and now that I’m typing this, I see that I have regrets.
My partner and looked up places to eat during a road trip from L.A. to Vegas and this place popped up on a google search. Just like us, if you stop to eat at Molly Brown’s, you won’t be disappointed. The grits were respectable, the coffee was fresh, the biscuits were fluffy, and the home fries were a home run.
The service is what you’d expect from any Americana breakfast spot - fast, friendly, and flavorful. Cindi was great. Her candor was refreshing and considerate of our wallet and our waistlines. All of the servers matched her level service and grace.
If you love going to breakfast spots, this one checks all the boxes. It’s cozy vibe, classic decor, caring crew make this...
