This place drew my attention because of the fact that it is also a bakery and I love baked goods. They do have a good selection of pies, cakes and muffins.
The main thing I noticed when I walked in was the unpleasant smell. I have no idea what the smell was, but it kind of smelled like a nursing home that is not maintained clean.
The menu is big and has lots of interesting options. I thought prices were a little high, but I assume this is the case in Viera. You can get the same foods at Somers Sunshine Cafe in Palm Bay for lower prices (and food is generally great).
I ordered pot roast with a baked potato and green beans. I could immediately tell the baked potato was cooked hours before or maybe the previous day, which I assume is the case at other places as well, except that this potato was hard and very hard to mash. It did not taste good at all. The green beans were tasty and so was the pot roast (good size portion), but the carrots and peas were not cooked together with the roast. They were either cooked or reheated in the microwave so they were chewy and crunchy (peas).
My husband had a breakfast meal and you'd think you can't go wrong with that, but it just tasted like it wasn't home cooked. I think a lot of the food is reheated in the microwave and not made from scratch. Definitely overpriced for what was offered.
I'm glad I decided not to get any pie at $7/slice. I got a whole cherry pie from Publix for $9 and that was a great choice.
I will not be going back to this place and it's a shame that with these high prices these days we still get...

We are regulars so we knew what we wanted and she took our drink orders and entree orders. The food arrived and the green beans which came with hubby's order of roast turkey were overcooked. I asked Jennifer to bring a side of corn to replace green beans. The corn did not arrive until after my husband finished his food. I asked for a to-go half and half iced tea which never came.
We waited over 20 minutes to be cashed out. She said she was waiting for those hand held devices to be available. After an additional 10 minutes we went to the cashier to pay for our meal. The woman at the register said she was unable to cash us out. Jennifer then came up and said with an attitude, " I was waiting for the device like I was trying to tell you. My husband replied, we know but we should not have waited this long. She was waiting on other patrons and taking dessert orders and kept walking by us. She looked annoyed and acted defensive when she should have took care of us. I never had trouble with Perkins as I know most of the servers here. I did not appreciate her attitude and her defending her incompetence as a server. Hope this behavior doesn't continue or we will take our business elsewhere. I almost did not tip her at all, but I understand serving is hard work and gave her a tip. However, since I am paying for service at higher prices these days, we expect...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 May 2011 Well my parents go to this Perkins Restaurant weekly, so I figured it was a good place to go to celebrate Mother's Day. Besides Perkins offers a FREE Meal to all mother's with another meal and two drinks purchased. I saw the low reviews, and unfortunately, I have to agree with the low ratings. My wife and I went to this Perkins a few months ago for a FREE meal with Dignity Memorial as the host. I got the salmon and it was dry. I said I would never pay $11 for this meal again..So this time, I got the 7oz Steak. In fact, my father, my wife and I all did. Two of the steaks should have been returned (overcooked) my dad ate his, he didn't want to complain, cause he knows the Manager. My wife ordered her steak Med Rare...It was extemely WELL DONE..not even close...it was a very thin Steak and I can see it would have been hard to get it right. Mine came as requested. However, the slow service, the uninspiring meals being served just reinforces to my wife and I, this Perkins doesn't deserve my business. I would have saved money going elsewhere even thought I had two meals FREE it still cost me $82.00 for the 6 of us..I am sorry, but I can invest that amount in many other places that have better food, service and more atmosphere. Perkins...get someone who knows how to do it right, our keep losing business..I know their desserts are good, and many laud their breakfast, but the lunch and dinner menu..needs work or a new staff in...
