Coming from a background where I was used to getting my makeup done, finding the right artist for my wedding was one of the most stressful parts of planning. But America? She didn’t just alleviate that stress—she made me feel seen, heard, and completely at ease.

Every single one of us—my bridesmaids, my stepmom, my mother-in-law—felt phenomenal. And that’s saying something because one of my maid of honors has never liked getting her makeup done for a wedding… yet here we are, a year later, and she still talks about how incredible America was! That’s the kind of lasting impression she leaves.

But let me tell you, my love for America’s work goes far beyond just my wedding day. I also had her do my makeup for my rehearsal dinner and the welcome party we threw, and I wouldn’t have traded that for the world. Having that extra bit of pampering before the weekend truly got started made all the difference—I felt my best the entire weekend, and honestly, that feeling is priceless. She also did my makeup for my engagement photos, and fun fact: she’ll be doing my makeup again for my upcoming maternity photoshoot! Because at this point, I just can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my face.

America and her assistant Sarah were absolutely fantastic for my wedding day. they provided the most beautiful makeup services, some of my girls verbalized “i have never felt prettier than i do right now” and it almost brought me to tears that Sarah and America were able to make them feel the most confident they’ve ever felt. America was super quick to respond to any Honeybook/emails and she was very accommodating to any changes or adjustments that i wanted to make for my day. she was always professional and made sure at the end of the day, the bride is happy :) America is absolutely amazing and was very accommodating & understanding with my sister in law who had really sensitive eyes from chemo. America made sure she used products and brands that my sister in law said wouldn’t flare her up. She was pain free the entire day, the makeup didn’t bother her eyes one bit!

Sarah went through a very traumatic experience minutes before she was supposed to arrive for makeup, she was in a car accident. i felt absolutely horrible, but she somehow still managed to view my wedding as a priority during this extremely traumatizing time and still made it to service the girls, we all were in disbelief - and she still treated us professionally, super friendly, and acted as if nothing just happened. we all couldn’t, and still can’t believe, she did this for us. it was absolutely not necessary but SO appreciated and i will never forget that.

Okay buckle up!! I take reviews so seriously because I am a wedding photographer in Chicago + I know the importance of an honest referral. America has worked with some of my clients over the years and their makeup always photographs AMAZINGLY so I knew I was going to reach out to her someday when it was my turn to walk down the aisle.

The time for my wedding finally (lol) came in November 2023 + America was my makeup artist!! When I tell you that literally all of my bridesmaids + our moms were raving about our makeup, America’s timeliness + how beautifully everyone’s makeup lasted the entire day, it’s 100% truth. I barely slept the night before my wedding + America was the first person to arrive that morning in my hotel suite. She brought such a calming but excited energy with her + was exactly the energy I needed to start the day.

America was also beyond professional from the beginning to the end of the planning process. She is quick to respond to emails + so on top of the ball with contracts / thorough communication, and that is SO crucial for a brides sanity.
