La Fiesta Mex-Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Villa Rica

I phoned in a to go order and sent cash with a friend to pick up. She called me to let me know the total was much more than the amount I sent. When she told me the total I questioned it and got on the phone with the cashier. She called out the prices for each item and I told her those prices were different from the menu on the website. The manager was beside her telling me that it was not their website. I asked "even though it has your phone number and your address it's not your website?" and she answered "Yes, people do that." I could hear the manager telling the cashier what to tell me. I asked her for their correct website and I told her that is the same website I ordered from. She then told me that the prices on the website were wrong but "he will go ahead and honor it." I asked how they could be wrong and she then told me "he said he would go on and correct the prices." When she told me the new total it was still too high so I asked her to list each charge again. That is when I found out there is a 15% gratuity added to all to go orders! Not only that, but the sales tax is calculated AFTER adding the tip. (Labor in Georgia is not subject to sales tax.) A gratuity is something that is given voluntarily. If LaFiesta wants to take an additional 15% from their customers they should be transparent and not spin it as a “gratuity”. And after reading other reviews I see others have also been charged more at the register than the prices on their menu. This is very deceptive and simply unethical. I am sure there are many customers who were unknowingly charged (and paid) more than the prices that were listed on the menu they ordered from. We had the shrimp a la diabla and the veggie Nachos! It was pretty good. EDIT: So I came back and had a not so good experience. First, it took the server 15 minutes to acknowledge us or even give us chips and salsa after being seated. My husband ordered a $28 margarita and it came out on the rocks instead of frozen. The waiter said there was nothing he could do about it. If you pay that much for a DRINK, you want it how you like it. So my husband said he wasn't going to order any food he would just pay for the drink. I was HUNGRY, so I ordered the vegetarian plate with one cheese enchilada, one chalupa, and one Chile rellano. When it comes to the the table it has beef and its not the vegetarian plate I ordered. We were in no mood to wait for another plate to be cooked. We were both hungry at this point. We had been there close to an hour already. So we end up paying $40+ dollars for drinks, and didn't even get to eat a meal. Crazy... The food is horrible the drinks are worse specially if u ask for top shelf there was no one to greet u at the door … then the manager has the nerve to ask us to give the server at tip for no refills did not check up on the table, did not collect any dirty dishes of the table ask anyone for any refills, we even had to get up an ask for a Togo plate to take my kids food with us an then that’s when we had to ask where was the check. That’s when she (Alexis) had to run up behind us as we are walking to the front to bring the check. When we asked her about the charge she got an attitude an then we asked to see the manager. The manager also came with an attitude and beside her also long story short we paid the 110.00 an didn’t leave a tip…the manager then yell at us about not leaving her a tip and started telling us about how she only gets paid 2.00 an hour and she lived on tips. We told him that it was not our problem or business he still goes back an forth with my bf an we continue to leave at the end of all of it could had ended after we signed the recipe an left but the manager had to provoke my bf an cause a scene for the whole restaurant to see… never will we...
