I walked into this restaurant at 8pm. I was left standing there and without guidance on where to sit. We found our seats and were not greeted by anyone for a few minutes. A server that was taking other people's orders took our drink order and got it. But then a completely different person took our food orders. This lady was very weird in how she came off. She probably saw us as just kids.
My buddy and I then order some food. He got a pizza and I got the eggplant parmesan. The food took quite some time to get to our table and once it got there it tasted like something that I could make at home.... And I'm no chef. The eggplant was burnt at the edges and tasted like bread more than eggplant. I waited kindly until the lady that took our orders asked us if everything was ok and I told her I wasn't into the eggplant. She responded with "why did you order it then?" I was appalled. I don't think ive heard that kind of reply unless it's my mother talking. I told her I wanted to try it here and she proceeds to tell me that the chicken parmesan is the best and that all the other customers have great opinions about it and that I probably don't know a good eggplant taste.
I'm not a jerk. I didn't want to cause a scene so I held it in... But BY GOD I wanted to rip this lady apart. Then she says maybe you can take it home and have someone else eat it... At this point IDK what to say so I agree. My buddy was kind enough to let me have some of his pizza. And here comes the lady again... She says "oh so you are eating the Alfredo pizza, you see Alfredo if different from what you ordered. You can't compare the two" and in my head I'm like "lady, if the food tastes like garbage it doesn't matter what I want." So we finish eating we pay our checks and she charged me for the eggplant parmesan that tasted like the halitosis on her breath.
Thank you for the stomachache I'm going to...
Read moreAfter having lived in the city since always, I finally decided to stop by with a friend. They had some special whose details other than mahi-mahi and lobster that I can't remember. But what I can remember is that the entire thing was one of the best dishes I've had the honor of eating and one of the first Italian meals I've actually enjoyed. The portion was perfect for me, to where I was full but didn't feel stuffed. The fish was so juicy that there's no way so much could fit within' the fillet. 'Twas also the very first time I've ever tasted what well-prepared lobster should taste like. Such juicy buttery goodness caught me wholly off-guard. The meal was preceded by their meat ball appetizer which tasted alright. The sauce and bread paired with it tasted quite alright, and it definitely tasted on the better end of meatballs I've had in my life, but still the same issue as the others (meat so fat that there's not really any juices inside leaving it tasting kinda dry, sadly). But the sauce and bread were good enough to make up for it. Finished it off with a pistachio + lemon cheesecake. The flavors of which worked quite well together, with every bite swapping which flavor was more intense, somehow, while never being overbearing. Exceptionally fluffy, too.
Will definitely go again in the future and one of the best food places in the city that I'd wholly recommend trying out.
Edit: Forgot to mention. When I came in, it was pretty empty inside, I assume we got in before anything started happening, but the guy that waited on us was extremely pleasant to the experience. The manner in which they presented themselves and described the meals (including the special recommendation) brought up my expectations of the place that the meal itself didn't fail to surpass even then....
Read moreWe recently dined at O’mezzo Italian Restaurant, a charming and unassuming eatery nestled among other shops in Pickerington. The small and quaint dining room exudes a cozy atmosphere. On a bustling Saturday evening, finding a seat proved a bit challenging amidst the crowd. While it wasn't clear whether we should wait for seating, we eventually approached the counter to inquire. Once seated, a prompt server attended to us.
Exploring the menu, we opted for the chicken gnocchi, spaghetti and meatballs, and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was a letdown to discover that bread and the starter salad came at an additional charge. While browsing the wine list, I found the red wine offerings somewhat limited.
When our entrees arrived, our disappointment waned as the dishes proved to be truly delightful. The pasta boasted a perfect texture, and the meatballs accompanying the spaghetti were exceptional—among the best I've had in a restaurant. My fellow diners also raved about their choices. It's worth noting that the overall cost of the meal, considering the absence of included salad or bread, leaned toward the higher side for a non-chain, family restaurant.
Despite these limitations, I would gladly return for dinner, now armed with this information. O’mezzo Italian Restaurant offers a worthwhile dining experience, especially for aficionados of Italian cuisine. The delicious entrees and cozy atmosphere make it a destination worth considering, despite a few minor...
