Let me just say… we came in to try this place after receiving an offer in the mail on their new location here in VA Beach. We were blessed to meet the owner, Dave. As soon as we walked in the door. We were greeted with a huge smile and asked if we have been there before. We responded no, first time and man did he go through literally EVERYTHING with us. Such time, effort and care in walking us through everything. Customer service is above and beyond!
The Ambiance here was extremely bright and inviting. The cleanliness was top tier, from the tables, the counters and the bathroom. Everything was spotless. Comfortable for someone with OCD for restaurants.
We ended up ordering (1) Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich combo with waffle fries and a drink, (1) Korean Chicken Sandwich and (10) Bone In Wings (1/2 Mango Habanero and 1/2 Plain w/ a variety of dipping sauces (Aoli similar and better than a Chick-fil-A sauce, Korean, ranch, atomic and a personal recommended a mix of garlic Parmesan and nuclear which was so good!) by the way, the sauces taste authentic in flavor and NOT artificial which can be so off-putting.
The chicken sandwiches were out of this world. Outside was crispy, airy and crunchy… rich in flavor and seasoned (not bland)… the inside was juicy and NOT dry. The bun was soft with subtle sweet notes. The coleslaw is made in house and super rich and fresh.
The wings were just as crunchy and flavorful. Dave, the owner, informed us on their process of making them which stood apart from the masses of other wing places around. Steamed, fried, tossed. They also offer grilled wings here as well, will definitely be trying these also!
Absolutely incredible experience with Dave’s incredible customer service, and the time he put into us as customers and the quality was a world apart from other wing / chicken sandwich places around. This is OUR new place to go and will be recommended it where ever we go. I cannot wait to come back and try the multitudes of food choices they have. From flatbreads, tenders, mozzarella sticks to milkshakes and fried Oreos. We will be coming back and I hope this place gets the business they deserve! Props to Dave and the crew over there! See you guys...
Read moreThis evening, my boyfriend and I had finally made it to Atomic Wings Virginia Beach at 3813 Princess Anne Rd #130, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
For months, we had been waiting for it to open since we workout at OneLife Fitness everyday which is located in the same shopping center.
For this establishment to be new at this location, I've gotta say I was pretty disappointed by the service we received tonight.
When my boyfriend and I entered, the restaurant was empty so we were the first in line to place an order for 20 wings and one order of waffle fries at 8:23 p.m. at the counter with a woman with odd/brightly colored hair.
As we waited, more and more customers quickly began piling in which eventually made the restaurant pretty full and packed.
As we sat, we continued to wait and wait; watching customers who came in after us being given their orders. To make this short, our order was not ready until 9:08 p.m
By the time we got called up front for the order, everybody in the restaurant had already eaten and cleared out. In a nutshell, we were the first to place an order, the last to receive our food and last to leave the restaurant.
To add insult to injury, our order was wrong. We asked for grilled wings and they were not. The food was also cold.
I'm not sure what happened with the staff working there this evening, but I highly suggest reflecting and figuring out what went wrong so that it does not happen again.
While we were waiting, we also witnessed multiple customers come in who had placed online orders who were also waiting over 30 minutes for their orders.
Overall, the experience was terrible and there seems to be some sort of an issue with food orders being backed up tremendously for some reason.
We would have at least appreciated being given an apology for the long wait time but that didn't happen.
We're not planning to return but I am here to put this on your radar especially being so new...
Read moreI recently placed a takeout order for 5 Sweet & Tangy traditional wings and 5 Lemon Pepper traditional wings. When I returned home, I discovered the Sweet & Tangy wings were boneless, which I did not order. On top of that, the traditional wings were no larger than my pinky finger and had little to no lemon & pepper seasoning.
I called the restaurant and spoke with the owner. Rather than listening and resolving the issue, he insisted I received what I ordered—even though I placed the order with the cashier, not him. He told me, "You should check your order before you leave—that’s what I do," and then asked, "What do you want to do?" I asked for a refund to the card I used, but he refused, claiming it was against company policy. As the owner, he sets the policies, yet chooses not to stand behind his product. He told me I needed to return the food, even though I live in Norfolk—13.2 miles away from their Virginia Beach location.
This business has been open for less than a year and can ill afford to alienate customers. The owner would benefit from some basic education in customer service, especially in how to handle mistakes professionally and respectfully. Atomic Wings is a franchise; it costs over $100.000 to open one, yet he was unwilling to correct a $12.31 mistake on his end.
I did not return the food the next day; rather, I called my credit card company, which credited my account in the amount of $12.31. He didn’t just lose a customer—he lost anyone who reads this review and chooses to go elsewhere. Less than 5 minutes away, there is a...
