Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I usually go here regularly on my lunch break as I work somewhat close. I’ve never had a bad experience until today. I tried curbside pickup because I brought my dog with me and I don’t like leaving her in the car alone, even for just a few minutes. The page said it’d be ready at 1:17, and once 1:20 rolled around I called to ask if they were busy as I can come in and grab my own order quickly. The girl on the phone stated that curbside pickup orders needed to call when they arrive to inform the employees, although it didn’t state that anywhere when I checked out or anywhere in front of the store. I apologized and said I was ready whenever they were and she said she’d be right out with my order. I then saw her, through the store window, talk to an employee and they both started laughing. I waited another 10-15 minutes for my order, which was never brought out to me. I ended up having to walk in and grab it myself (which wasn’t a big issue considering I offered) but the amount of disrespect I received from that employee was disgusting. I went in and asked for my food and they didn’t even apologize or anything, handed me my food that had been sitting there for 20 minutes. I absolutely love this location! I was helped by Ania at the register and she was so unbelievably kind, patient and thorough. She was courteous and considerate with every person that walked through the door, which at one point I saw an entire teenage sports team walk in while our order was being made!

The team didn't even bat an eye or show an ounce of stress from being busy. Bree was incredible with her multitasking, speed and efficiency all while teaming up with Isaiah for the perfect handoff and final interaction. Love love LOVED my experience here! You folks are absolutely incredible and I look forward to coming back! Thank you so very much!!!

This last visit we ordered Blimey Limey and Mocha Madness and we had zero regrets. I also adore Sunrise Sunset and its usually my main go-to smoothie, but I was feeling a bit rebellious today and craving that chocolate! What can I say? I enjoy living dangerously. Tonight when I went in, there was a lady and her two children in line ahead of me. I listened as they placed their order and watched as Curtis lightened the mood with a smile that never left his face. This in turn led the lady and kids to smile from such an interaction. We carry on and I'm sitting near them waiting on our orders.

Well, a burrito was wrong. One of the kids burritos came wrong because Curtis didn't put in the order right. Thank goodness Curtis worked there because the brunette lady making food was flagged down and if it wasnt for the first interaction being with Curtis, they would've made a scene about it. The cook begrudgingly offered to remake it while rolling her eyes after arguing with the lady about the order. The lady became frustrated and said a few choice words as the cook walked away.
