China City — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Have ordered from them several times, the food has been consistently fair...not the best but good enough. Well, tonight our wings tasted like old oil and were way overcooked, dried out and brown. I called and was received by a rude American lady asking me ..."What do you want me to do? " I said I would like a fresh order of wings but I doubt they are going to change oil just for me...so I wanted a refund. They told me to bring the food in...i said I was at work, they said save the food and bring it in tomorrow! Whaaat!!! I spoke to the manager and she yelled on the phone to bring food in for refund! And hung up on me! I clocked out , went to store and they started asking why I dirtied their food and now they would have to throw it away.....i asked , are you planning on giving it to another customer? Wth is wrong with these people? Then, she charged me for the missing piece of wing! I was shocked that they would treat customers this way and the manager told me she didn't care if I ordered there anymore! The America lady was so rude! Actually they both were!! I doubt with that kind of attitude and service they care what they serve us!!! NEVER AGAIN CHINA CITY and I will tell EVERBODY I MEET!! Too many Chinese places out there to put up with...

Today was my first visit there. I don't usually do Chinese unless I prepare and cook same at home for obvious reasons. Upon walking in the door, the lady behind the counter was assisting another customer who appeared not to have her debit or charge card present as she was on the phone with someone who gave her the number but gave it to her incorrectly (we were the only two customers at that time). I say all of this to say, the lady behind the counter proceeded to take my order which was only a cup of soup. She took my money and gave me my change. She grabbed a pint size soup container and commence to compile my soup. She NEVER stopped to wash her hands before doing so. Yet she handled my money and even handled my soup with NO gloves. She even took the time to take another phone order prior to finishing mine. I had to ask for my receipt as well as a fortune cookie. I removed what was supposed to be chicken from the soup. Prayed over the rest and kept it moving. Needless to say, I won't be returning as veggies in soup were still...

Not good. We ordered fried chicken wings, spare ribs and rice. It was not busy in there and the fried wings had already been cooked and were sitting next to the fryer before we got there. All they did was drop them back in the grease which made them dry and overcooked. The spare ribs had been precooked as well and they were also re-cooked upon ordering. I know a lot of Chinese restaurants do this but this place had the whole order ready in less than 10 minutes which we were happy about but the food honestly tasted thrown together. Even down to the napkins and utensils provided (we were in a hotel so we needed pretty much everything) were super flimsy. I gave the place 2 stars because the kitchen was clean and the staff was really nice and kind. There are so many Chinese places to choose from, we would try somewhere...
