The staff was very kind and helpful. She did a wonderful job overall. Lentil and sausage soup was good, so was the salad. The Johnny ( Tuscan-Grilled Sirloin Marsala and Chicken Bryan )with sauté spinach: the sauté spinach was a bit greasy for me. It was sautéed nicely and seasoned well. Sirloin Marsala was flavorful, but it was cooked rare when I ordered it medium rare. The goat cheese and the sauce on the chicken was a bit overpowering; the basil helps balancing it out a little. Overall it was a satisfying dish. Linguine positano with chicken was good. Make sure to mix the linguine because all the flavor was at the bottom. I will recommend this place. Updates: I visited twice with friends since my previous review. Majority of the food were good. I liked the bread and the seasoned olive oil the gave to the table. Cozze in Bianca: mussels steamed in white wine, basil, and lemon butter sauce. The sauce was good, but the quality of the mussels was not great. It’s a good dish, just hope the mussels were better. House salad was good, came with the entree. Linguine Positano with chicken, crushed tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and basil. It was delicious. Make sure to mix it up so the sauce covers all the linguine. We had leftover to go and it definitely tasted better the next day since the linguine soaked up the sauce. Linguine pescatore had shrimps, scallops, mussels, and spicy marinara sauce. I liked the spicy marinara sauce, provided right amount of kick to the dish. The seafood in this dish were good. Again, make sure to mix up so the sauce covers all the linguine and it tasted great as leftover. Calamari was fried just right, not rubbery. It was tender and paired well with the marinara sauce. Four Cheese and Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms: four mushrooms stuffed with sausage, spinach, ricotta, Parmesan, Romano, mozzarella cheese and Italian breadcrumbs served over tomato cream sauce. This appetizer was savory, creamy, and delicious. Highly recommend ordering it. Lobster Ravioli: Ravioli stuffed with lobster and romano in our white wine cream sauce topped with diced tomatoes. It was delicious overall, love the white wine cream sauce. The only thing I would like more was having more lobster meat in the ravioli. Again, I will come back again and recommend this place. The staff were friendly and attentive as always.

We went to Carrabba's in Chesapeake on Sunday. It had been awhile since we had dined there. It wasn't crowded, but they had just had a large party seated. As to not overwhelm the staff, they had everyone wait about 10 to 15 minutes. A lot of businesses are understaffed. I can appeciate them respecting both their employees and customers by asking us to wait. The greeter was extremely polite and helpful. He was even able to enforce their mask policy with a couple in a kind manner. It seems their idea to have everyone wait worked well. Once we were seated, our waiter took our order and the food came out in a timely manner. My husband ordered the ribeye steak medium well. It was cooked to perfection. I tasted it and it didn't need any sauce. He added a little to his. Smh. He also had the mashed red potatoes and truffle fries (yeah 2 potatoes). Both were delicious (I sampled those too :) ). I had lasagna for my meal and the house salad with creamy parmesan. The lasagna was so cheesy. After eating the bread with italian butter (oil mixture) and sampling my husbands food, I couldn't finish my meal. Trust me, it will make a great lunch this week! Speaking of the Italian butter, theirs is the best blend. I could eat it all day! The salad was also good with the creamy parm, olives and pepperoncini. To sum it up, our meal was superb. The staff was friendly. I loved that you have to wear a mask coming in and walking around the restaurant. While you are seated you can remove it. The staff wears masks. Thanks Carrabbas!! *We had started eating before I took the pictures.

I've been to this restaurant with family and friends numerous times; and, I have never been disappointed with their food, service, or prices. I offered my friend three choices for an afternoon lunch (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Carrabba's) Today, my friend and I arrived around 1:30 p.m. We were seated quickly. Our waitress showed up within a minute to take our drink order. Our drinks were delivered by another member of the staff quickly and friendly. Our waitress returned and asked if we had any questions about the menu. We did not and we were ready to place our orders. My friend ordered the Pollo Rosa Maria with a Caesar salad ($24) and I ordered the Sea Scallops Spiedino di Mare with Fettuccine Alfredo and their spicy sausage soup ($25.50). We spent around an hour in this establishment. Our drinks were refilled three times without requesting to do so. Our waitress was professional, pleasant, and vigilant as well as the gentleman who refreshed our drinks. Lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed. Prices are mid-range but staff and their service certainly make it an awesome visit. I am not a wine drinker; however, if you are it appears Carrabba's has noted which wines complement their dishes on their menu. My 4 for Atmosphere is for me it's a little to dark and maybe turn up the lights a little. A great date night.

What has happened to Carrabba's

Where do I start,

Upon walking into the Lynnhaven Restaurant, 3 tables was all that was sat. Pretty much an empty restaurant at 4:10 P.M. September 17th, 2023. We were told "it would be 5 minutes to be seated, we are waiting for a table to open up" Are you serious your restaurant has many open tables.

We are seated took 10 Minutes for Hailey the server to come get our drink order. While waiting we watched a table busser wipe all the food from another table onto the floor and leave it there. He didn't come and sweep it until a customer pointed out all the food all over the floor under the table Finially Haily arrives, We ordered 2 glasses of wine and 2 cokes for our kids. It was at this time we told her not to do the oil but to bring butter instead. She claimed she would let her assistant know.

25 Minutes go by finally we have our drinks yes it took 25 minutesto get 2 glasses of wine and 2 cokes, still no bread and butter at the table. We asked Hailey where the bread and butter is at, She deflects that it isn't her job, it's her assistants, she spilled drinks but it's coming. We place our orders with 2 salads. 10 Minutes later her assistant finally brings the bread and butter.

30 Minutes later still no salads or meals we ordered. 10 Minutes later only 1 kids meal was delivered. While 3 others waited on theirs. 20 Minutes later still no salads the other 3 meals arrive. It took an entire hour in a non packed restaurant to make food, I'd hate to see it if the restaurant was packed. We asked Hailey where are our salads? She states what you didn't get your salads, what are they doing back there. Really. You're the server it's your responsibility to serve your table and ensure they got everything they ordered not deflect and blame everyone else. So she comps us a dessert like that makes up for the most awful non busy restaurant service we have experienced in a very long time.

This establishment has went downhill very badly, service times are out of this world, food is dry, and the customer service and blame games are just too much. I expected better out of a Johnny Carrabba experience. This place is not at all what it used to be. Explains why it is now mostly empty. So sad. Olive Garden from now on. Avoid this place at all costs, save yourself...

I have been to this Carrabba's many times, since at least 2016. I have also been to Carrabba's in several other cities numerous times. All those times were at least satisfactory. I have NEVER seen at Carrabba's what I saw tonight.

  1. The Sicilian chicken soup had a bare 2 inch long chicken bone in it, and gristle.
  2. The broccoli was so overcooked it was inedible. The local Denny's (fast food) and any Denny's can and does steam broccoli to perfection. This Carrabba's is far far below that 24-hour down market diner.
  3. When I walked in the front door, the place smelled like someone had taken a dump and nobody had cleaned it up.
  4. The waitress and staff were almost a self-parody of unfriendliness.
  5. The waitress was surly, uncommunicative from the start, often unresponsive to simple routine menu questions, had to be pressed for any answer at all.
  6. Service was simply take the order, dump the dishes, you're on your own, customer. We don't give a damn. Staff socialized with each other quite busily near the kitchen at the back, all ignored me. Never checked back to ask how the food was.
  7. Denied me a nice booth up front with soft lighting, even though the place was almost deserted (fully 1 hour before closing). Made me sit in a booth just feet away, but facing the glaring fluorescent light of the kitchen. Very mean and chickens** about it. I was nicely dressed, quiet, and polite.

Could it be because I was elderly and alone? The answer has serious ramifications for any place serving the general public.

I'll save this Carrabba's the trouble. I shall return to wonderful Virginia Beach regularly - but NEVER to this Carrabba's. WHEW!

In the supposed language of this...
