I have visited Cooper's Hawk in the past- although they were other locations in VA and Maryland. This has got to be my worst experience ever! I attended a dinner for my sisters vow renewal. We went early in the day and set the room up for her guest. The only thing the staff had left to do was put put in the candles on the candelabra, as they were battery-operated and stack the cupcake boxes on the cake table. We were to have the private room from 8p-10p. Guest were there at the appointed time. Upon arrival, the cupcakes were not stacked. When I asked the staff what happened. Nobody knew. They did bring it out afterward but just put them on the table, not stacked as agreed upon. Service was horrible, as we had a room with 40 adults and 10 kids. So 50ppl with 2 servers. The server came around approx 45-60mins and took drink orders (liquor). Those orders came fast, but if you wanted water, soda, or iced tea. You had to wait another hr for that. For a pre-ordered 4 course meal, it took almost 2 hrs to get a salad, and the soup came out cold. Never got any bread. 3 hours for food to come out and at 1145pm 1 table was still waiting for food. The main course was semi warm, salmon and mash potatoes were tasteless. Chicken was warm but dry. They never brought the assortment of desserts we were to get. Those who eventually decided to get the food to go because they were tired of waiting got what looked like dog poop dessert to go. (Pic attached) This event had been planned some months in advance with the menu already decided upon. Poor planning on the part of this Cooper's Hawk management. How can u efficiently serve 50ppl with 2 staff. Even the staff complained that they didn't ask anyone to work to be able to staff this event! They obviously didn't staff the kitchen to be able to mass produce this meal and get it out in a timely manner. My sister and brother-in-love were very upset at this, and when they spoke to management regarding the same, they were offered a bottle of wine for each adult guest for the inconvenience 😤. We took it, but who the hell wants that $3 bottle of wine that you mass produce in ur winery. They should have been giving money back. I know my sister is taking this up the chain to the corporate office, and so she should. This type of service for a pre-planned event was unacceptable and quite disappointing, to be honest as they had been there in the week prior, conferring and planning for it to turn out the way it did! Would never come back to this location again! Major...
Read moreExtremely Disappointed and Deeply Concerned with Coopers Hawk’s Handling of a Violent Incident.
My wife and I were recently the victims of an unprovoked and violent assault by an extremely intoxicated and aggressive individual while dining at Coopers Hawk. The individual—who was clearly inebriated—misinterpreted a benign comment I made to the bartender, claimed he was sensing “racist energy,” and proceeded to threaten and physically lunge at me without warning. His behavior was deeply disturbing, including F-bombs and hateful remarks directed at me and my wife, who is Asian. Fortunately, the incident was captured on video.
Despite the clear evidence and the severity of the encounter—including the physical disparity between the assailant (well over 6’-4” and 300+ lbs) and myself (5’6”, 155 lbs and near 70 years old)—Coopers Hawk’s Chicago corporate office (nuf said there) took over two weeks to contact us. When they finally did, it was after 8 PM via a representative reading from a scripted legal statement, offering no empathy or sense of urgency. He/she just kept parroting, like an echo chamber, that “there was no conclusive evidence of the assailant being over-served or fault on the part of the patron—yet, they did admit he “shouldn’t have been speaking to us.” That was the extent of their acknowledgment.
To this day, no one from management has reached out to us directly to express concern, gather our account, or offer any support. Meanwhile, the individual who initiated this violent and racially charged outburst remains welcome at their establishment. Nor did they follow up with the email promised so I could send the wife’s and my statements given to the police. Coopers just really just doesn’t care.
Coopers Hawk decided to ignore the safety and well-being of its patrons, and worse, to appear indifferent when violence, fueled by alcohol and hate, takes place in their venue. Rewarding illegal behaviors and supporting violent crime —whether through silence or inaction—is unacceptable.
Coopers Hawk has lost our business, and we share this account so others can be aware of how serious matters are handled when something goes terribly wrong. Choosing to leave the door open to more potential alcohol induced delusions and violence by the same patron. known to be a regular who sits at the bar. I’m still waiting for Coopers to call me and tell me the assailant is demanding...
Read moreAll I can give is 0 (zeros) across the board. We never got a morsal of food to eat. The server was wonderful. The Manager and so called GM were horrible. After just being there a few minutes and greeting friends that were also at the restaurant, the manager approached our table. We were told that we were not "allowed" to "roam" around the restaurant, which we were not doing. At the time she approached, one person is our party was standing to take a picture. We were told we must remain in our seat. This from the manager. After being berated like 2 year old's, we asked to speak to the managers boss and the GM came. Surely she would apologize for the uncalled for treatment of her guest and speak to the manager on how to treat customers, but we were so wrong. This person, Suzette Zimomra was even ruder than the manager. We calmly explained the situation and shared our feelings of embarrassment by being singled out. Other patrons were enjoying each others company, standing, taking pictures, but the manager came to us. She said that was her restaurant and we couldn't talk to her that way...what way? And she accused my friend of putting her fingers in her face. Mind you my friend was sitting and Suzette was standing, talk about physically impossible. She then said we were making a disturbance and had to leave. She even called the police. Mind you, no one in our party raised their voice, and no one in our party got out of their seats. This is how she spoke to members and potential members of this establishment. Oh, did I say we were a group of professional black women? And, we were the only people in the entire restaurant that were treated in this fashion. My advice to anyone with a membership at this establishment, cancel it today. And anyone looking for a nice place for dinner, this is not it. Our group went right next door to Maggie McFly's and had a wonderful time. We had great drinks, great food and the staff appreciated our patronize. Wish I could say the same for...
