Famous Uncle Al's @ Kemps River — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I visit this place frequently being that I work in the shopping center. My coworkers and I visit frequently as well as I always recommend this place to patients. Everyone doesn’t seem excited to actually work when I come in. I actually stopped going for a month because of how I was treated last time. They will sit up and ignore you until you have to make them acknowledge you. They care more about the dine in people than the to go orders. I guess maybe because of tips. Tiffany is great she remembers you by face and order. Always has a great attitude. The “owner” who seems like everything was gave to her is very rude and dismissive. After being ignored for over 10 minutes to place a to go order I asked her can I order she immediately became aggressive. Maybe if the card machine ( that has been working poorly for months) was working properly they wouldn’t spend 10 minutes trying to process payments. And can actually tend to guest. the Firecracker footlong is amazing!

Someone in the party who had never been before, asked if we order up front and we were told "it's a regular restaurant." So they asked to be seated and the girl told us to sit wherever. strike 1. We sat there eating and purposely waited for someone to come over and ask them for our checks because it's a regular restaurant. of course we were told to pay up front like regular restaurants. However, like regular restaurants, none of the employees looked happy. #2

The inside is very boring and plain here. I don't know if it's a new thing for famous Uncle Al's but all of the others I've been to have stickers and flair all over the place. #3.

My 2nd visit to this “non-franchised” “Famous Uncle Al’s” tasty-riffic hot dog eatery.

Hot dogs are not alone on this super-riffic eatery’s menu. Hamburgers, wraps, grilled sandwiches & cold deli-sandwiches are available.

This location is a true “owner-operated” (Lauren) ma & pa business. Counter-seating ( a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite feature) & booth-seating options.

The staff of Lauren & Erica definitely gave me with “More Smiles Than I Came In With!”

The atmosphere is clean, bright & comfortable,
