Firebrew Bar & Grill is located in the Red Mill Landing Shopping Center. They are near the corner of General Booth Blvd. and Nimmo Pkwy. You can enter the shopping center from Nimmo Pkwy at the first right after the intersection. There is an apartment complex behind them and CVS is next door to the shopping center. My most recent visit here was on December 24, 2024.
Parking can be a bit dicey in the shopping center. Most of the parking spaces near the restaurant are for compact cars only. I don't see many compact cars out there (my car happens to be compact), and those with the bigger vehicles park there anyways. Each one of those vehicles takes up at least two parking spots, and in some cases. four parking spaces. There are non-compact parking spaces further back, so those larger vehicles should park there instead.
Every time I have been here, the restaurant has been well maintained, both inside and outside. They do have outdoor seating, but it does become heated covered seating during the winter season.
When I come in, I usually ask for Hannah. She's been our server several times here and we have had a good connection when it comes to eating here. She knows what I usually get when I visit, though I do change things up a bit at times. As for the menu, they have quite the drink menu, as well as a wine bar. The food menu is changeable. There are several items, usually those on the Seasonal Delights portion of the menu, that will change with the seasons.
I had a birthday coupon, so that's what brought me in on this latest visit. I've always had great experiences each time I have been here. I just hadn't been in for a while, along with other places as I was getting some medical issues in order. Now that I have that under control, I have been able to get back into visiting different places again. I also had a free appetizer coupon for purchasing a gift card recently. Within the past year or so, they changed their rewards program so that it's not something just through Messenger now. The new rewards program has a similar setup to many other places where you earn points for purchases and can get a coupon after reaching a certain point threshold.
Since this was during my birthday month, I had some foods that I normally don't eat, as I have been in diabetic remission for about 18 months and counting. With the free appetizer, I went with the soft pretzels. I only did water for a drink. When it came time to order, I went with the Full Rack of BBQ Baby Back Pork Ribs. They didn't have green beans as an option on this visit, so I went with the baked potato wedges instead. My mom went with the Creamy Potato Soup (soup of the day) and the Potato & Cheddar Pierogis appetizer.
Shortly after ordering the entrées, the soft pretzels with beer cheese dip came out to the table. Those pretzels were soft and fulfilling. The beer cheese dip was a great complement to the pretzels. Did the pretzels spike my blood sugar? Yes, but it was so good.
The main courses came out pretty quickly. I hadn't even finished the pretzels yet when they came out. They have always been fast though in my experiences. The ribs looked really good and it was time to eat. The ribs were fall off the bone good. This is one of my favorite entrée items here. The baked potato wedges were really good too. My mom loved the soup and the appetizer she got as the entrée. I did not go for any desserts though.
Overall, this has been another great experience here. The food and service have been on point. Make sure to join their rewards program if you haven't done so already. If you're looking for a nice local place for lunch or dinner, this place is worth...
Read moreThe potential is there.. i wanted it to live up to its promise of the mouth watering menu. I thought i found a hidden gem in Vbch that had me anticipating a scrumptious meal of delicious bites worth coming back for repeatedly! Unfortunately it falls short the second the ticket hits the kitchen. The serving staff was attentive & gracious with our party but the poor girl was slightly embarrassed after the hour long wait, 3rd drink refill and numerous trips to the table delivering news of broken promises & missed opportunities from multiple items 86ed for the night. The manager, although ready to cry after his 3rd visit from covering for the poor kitchen management was amazing as he worked the room & took over delivering the bad news for the waitress of delays & the many items not on the menu for the night. Once the food arrived, visually, the items that made it to the table as some just did not show up & were not even on the bill, looked like the wait had been worth it!! Wohoo!! But alas, they forgot to tell us they were also out of salt & pepper. The marinara was pure tomato from a can desperately seeking a hint of garlic? Oregano? A simple smidge of salt? The Brussel sprouts appeared to have a split personality lost in execution. The sweet maple sauce married with the delectable sausage and bacon had the potential to be phenomenal- unfortunately the were boiled, as I’m sure is part of prep, but they never hit the wood fire which I have to believe was the vision for full execution of the recipe leaving crispy bits of texture. So sad as I separated the yin from the yang and left the springy wet balls on the right but devoured the left. The salmon with its creamy sauce melted on your tongue but sat on a muted blank canvas of risotto swimming in its tears of rejection from the lack of any seasoning. The fries… zero seasoning.., a house seasoning is definitely a missed mark here.. and still frozen..don’t get me wrong, I know first hand about staff shortages. It’s hard. I know food shortages in the industry.. but guys… it’s beyond that -it’s execution. It’s simple seasoning. It’s kitchen leadership.. I would love to come back when that piece is in place as I bet it will be phenomenal!!! Good luck! I am...
Read moreThis was our 2nd trip to Firebrew. Our first trip was February 10th. So on our 2nd visit on May 12th, we had the same server we had 3 months prior, Jeremiah. Get this - not only did he remember us, he remembered where we sat AND the appetizer we ordered! Right then and there I was blown away!
We tried a different appetizer this time, the bacon wrapped shrimp. They were really good. You get 5 shrimp for $11.99.
My wife ordered the Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon. This dish was $19.99!!!! 😳😳😳 She ordered it with creamy risotto and asparagus. I have to say, I don't like fish but I found the salmon to be tasty. It wasn't too fishy...just a little, but my wife enjoyed it (she likes fish anyway). The risotto was REALLY GOOD though!! The asparagus was a little better than ok if you ask me, but that doesn't take away from her complete meal which was amazing.
I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs with Potatoe wedges and asparagus. Let me tell you, that meat truly peeled right off the bone and it was DELICIOUS! It was really, really good. The potatoe wedges sand asparagus were ok, but overall my mean was GREAT!!! My half rack meal was $17.99 though, so again...😳😳😳!!!
Our final conclusion, my wife and I love this place. It's expensive so we probably won't be bringing our family and we will probably only be able to visit once in a while (however, if you go to there Facebook page you can sign up and get a "but one, get one free" deal on select entree's... Just make sure you ask what those entree's that qualify are before you order). The other items on the menu are not as expensive but if not for the buy one get one coupon, this would have been close to a $50 lunch and unfortunately we don't have it like that!!!
Definitely check this place out!!!! IT'S A MUST!!! You won't be disappointed. And ask to be served by Jeremiah. He's extremely friendly, helpful, and no doubt he added to the 5 start experience. He's one...
