I'll start by saying I love Noodles and Company. When we lived in Jacksonville, NC this was one of my favorite places to eat. However, we have given this location 2 attempts now, and both have not gone well.
First, their service is terrible. You get completely ignored and if you try to ask a question they act like you are an inconvenience. Their grilled chicken is incredibly chewy and rubbery, and the meatballs that came with the kids spaghetti and meatball were dry and hard. We attempted to go back again tonight for a second time to see if the first was a fluke. It was not. I waited 15 minutes past my pickup time to receive my food. I noticed them place a bag on the counter but not say anything to me or call a name. After the bag was taped off someone slid a kids juice box in, so I figured it might have been mine and went to check. I asked if everything was there and it was ready to take. The guy just stared at me for a second and then said yea and went back to what he was doing. I should have known better and checked, but I did not. I got all the way home, and we were missing one of our meals. The meatballs were burnt and hard again, and the chicken still rubbery. We also got cheesy bread, but it had an odd almost stale texture and the cheese just slid right off the top. I tried calling multiple times about our missing food, but the phone just rings and eventually hangs up, it's impossible to get someone to answer.
Needless to say, I won't give this location...
Read moreCustomer Service: For most people around the age groups of 0-25, the customer service will be just fine, but nothing more. They give you your food pretty quickly, and they tell you to have a good day. That is all, really. Though this isn't a location you would want to bring your ornery, middle-aged mom or your uncle who thinks that customer service people should be robotic 'yes men.' Most of the staff is young, and they don't necessarily follow all the customer service queues, but I never personally had a problem with that. Their job is to make and give me my food, that's really all I need.
Food: Good stuff right there. Almost could be categorized as a drug by the FDA. Anything on that menu is golden. Just make sure to take some heartburn meds if you're going to have any of the red sauce meals. Personal recommendation is the mac and cheese.
Atmosphere: Really, really awkwardly quiet. You will not want to dine in; so if you're a mom that wants an empty space with nobody around to be with your kid unjudged? This is the spot. If you're looking to read a book, even flipping the page is too loud, and the outdoor dining is loud because you're next to Lynnhaven. Try the really tight-fitted parking...
Read moreAtmosphere is a 4 only because both times I went there, I did carry-out. And they were not very busy. (Close to closing time)The decor was pleasant and the dining area was clean and set nice. First time I went to noodles and company, I put the young man at the register on the spot and asked him what he would recommend/suggest. Nothing spicy. Nothing with shrimp. He thought for a quick second yet his was quick with telling me one of his favorites..The Alfredo. And because I'm from Wisconsin, I had to try the Wisconsin Mac and Cheese.. He was spot on in his recommendations. The food was fresh/hot and delicious! As I paid (prices were very reasonable. Better than other places that I have been to that have the same type of food) and was headed to a table to wait, I asked him his name. Surprisingly he gave me his business card. The young man's name is Ivory and he is actually assistant general manager there. His service was polite, upbeat, carefree, fun yet serious, he was well spoken, both in tone and volume. Like I mentioned the food is fresh and taste amazing! I will definitely be back... And often! If you have not been? I would definitely recommend trying Noodles...
