Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

My family just had gotten to our hotel and was recommended by the front desk representative to order Papa Johns. We love Papa Johns where we live so no problem. It’s late my little daughter is starving so I call. The lady could barely understand me and I her. We did however speak about only having a $100 bills since we just got here and hadn’t had a chance to break anything. The lady reassured me that she would let them know and that is fine even if the delivery drivers a only carry 20 dollars in change. I confirmed this 3 times to be sure. The pizza arrives and my daughter thanked him with excitement to finally eat pizza which her favorite anyway. The delivery guy said he didn’t here anything about the 100 dollars and mind you this was a 40 dollar bill. Then I said okay I will meet you at the shop and get the pizza because again my little girl was hungry ot was late and honestly we were starving as well. I’m in the elevator with the delivery guy and explained that I confirmed with the lady that took my order and that’s it’s not his fault or mine and I would pick the pizzas up there. He was ridiculously rude and said he had other orders which I told I understand and that the lady on the phone had a language barrier. But.. I know I confirmed at least 3 times to have enough change for our order. Due to the delivery drivers horrible attitude I did not go to the shop which I would of gladly tipped him and told him that. Being an HR employee advocate and customer service for over a decade it is disgusting how I was treated. I will never go to this Papa Johns and will write a review not only here but Yelp, Reach other to the regional and the shop manager plus any other website I can find. Someone has to be accountable! I would of appreciated a im sorry for the mix up or any kind of genuine customer care with kindness. Very sad that this establishment has so many bad reviews but still...

If I could give 0 stars that's what I was doing! I ordered pizza and got a smash pizza... we couldn't even eat from it because everything was stick to each other and looked disgusting!!!!! When I called them, they were close and when I call day after, they told me they can't refund me because it's a new day!!!! While I'm try to explain that they were close and my order was night before - so it's not even 24 hours after!!!!

The manager was very rude! Bad customer service I ever had!!! I know how business works, and it's not that way!!! She continued to tell me that she can't give me my money back. Last night my family stayed hungry because of you!!!! They don't care about nothing! I paid them for throwing my pizza away!

The Shaqorini was delicious with it being a thin crust pizza and lots of pepporoni. The pizza we order is always on time, driver is courteous, pizza hot and delicious so definitely recommend. The Philly Cheese Steak pizza was delicious, driver courteous, pizza delivered faster than the estimated time quoted as we always order online-so easy, the only problem we had was with the promotional code that came into our email as it stated could be used per Pizza but my husband was unable to use the code per Pizza, good news is with our Papa John's account login they give us all the promotions that they're doing and we were able to do a different one on the other Pizza. I definitely prefer Papa John's over any other pizza place...
