Session — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I was deeply disturbed and disappointed by the service I received while attempting to dine here. I decided to check the place out based on the online reviews. I called in advance to confirm if the restaurant was dog friendly which they assured me it was. Once I arrived, I requested a table out in the patio since I had my small dog with me. The hostess advice to meet him in the back as we would be greeted and seated through the back. Well, unfortunately that was not the case. There were 2 other parties besides ours in the patio and we were ignored from the beginning. We ended up seating ourselves and waited for whatever felt like an eternity for service until I decided to go back in to ask for service again. We were not offered any water to begin with nor were we acknowledged. The waiter came around shortly after my second attempt for service. By this time, everyone in my party had looked for the menu online and was ready to order. Nevertheless, the waiter brought us physical menus. As I was STILL ordering my food, another waiter walked by us and approached to ask me “if I was done with that” (the menu card). I felt rushed to order my food and he proceeded to take the menu off my hands to give to the party behind us. This was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. The service was awful and incompetent since the start which caused me to abandon the establishment. I will never recommend a place that picks and chooses who to serve and the quality of service they will provide no how matter how “great” the food is. STAY AWAY...

The staff? Absolutely wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.

Session is an experience! If you, or your friends, are looking for vegan or gluten free options- but there are still some in your group that enjoy a traditional bacon and eggs breakfast- look no further. Session is the best of both worlds- coming together- holding hands and doing its own thing! With this being our second time there; we were just as impressed as we were with our first visit. Having a pet friendly patio allows your lil fur babies to come along for some fun. There "in da club" sandwhich is fresh, delicious, and will have you licking your plate clean. The fritata- a beautiful blend of mushroom, dill, and egg with a bed of fresh greens- was fluffy and packed with flavor. The "your dad's go to" was a mix of 2 eggs however you want them, bacon or sausage, hashbrown or root vegetables hash, with a side of greens served with toast, butter, and jam. Once again, Session delivered and surpassed expectations. Service was a 10/10, food was 10/10, and we will most certainly be back in the future for round #3!
