Have been coming here now for almost four years, we've been to some of the other tropical smoothie shops around town and hands down this is the best location in terms of quality and consistency of smoothies made, well made hot wraps, courteous staff, and a generally nice/clean location. I believe the owner of this location is frequently on the floor helping out (not 100% sure if he actually is the owner, but his demeanor and leadership would make it appear so, if not hats off to the only non young teen gent working), and I think that's why this location tends to be the best running and all around one we will always opt to go to even if it's out of the way. Speaking of younger staff, the majority of the crew here is in the younger adult category, but they have always been respectful, well groomed and well dressed,and they seem to step up into being a mature and professional group while on shift. Pointing out the age group specifically at this location as they are well put together (in my opinion from leadership differences and setting expectations/an example) which is in stark contrast to the other stores where employees of a similar age group (but also in general) are often nonchalant, seem that they could care less about another human or quality service, hats on sideways, shirts and baggy pants, letting dirty tables and trash over run the place (namely the VB Blvd location in Collins square, food safety violations galore). Read moreChoose a different tropical smoothie location if possible. Yes, they make your orders correct and it tastes great. BUT the service is not good. Two experiences. The first, i took the time to complete a survey that this location sends via email after purchasing (email attached). I then received a coupon. However, when i showed the coupon to the cashier: she told me it couldn’t be used and she had never seen that coupon. WHAT? Second experience: I moved and accidentally sent my order to this location. I called for HOURS to explain and receive a refund. No answer. I left a message on the voicemail. No call back. I was in the area later on that night and went to the store. I explained the situation to a cashier who then explained it to a team lead just for her to walk up to me and ask “so what happened?” HE JUST TOLD YOU. I explained again. She says “we can’t refund in the store if you ordered online, we’ll have to have the manager do it tomorrow” i explained i do not live in the area and no one answered but i left a voicemail. She says “we don’t check the voicemail” WHAT? At this point what she’s saying makes no sense nor is it resolving anything. Another team lead stepped in and said she’d come in the next day and explain to the manager what happened. I wrote down my phone number and everything. If the manager called me, you called me. Read moreI generally don’t do reviews unless I am really unsatisfied with my experience and this is one of those times. I frequent this location and most times have a satisfying experience but the last few months has not been very pleasant. Today, I went through the drive thru and was excited because I had a survey reward so I was supposed to get a discounted smoothie after doing the survey. The older lady who seems to be the morning/daytime shift manager told me the code was invalid which was disappointing since I did what they asked on the receipt. She comes off with nice nasty disposition which I think can be pretty rude and often slams the drive thru window in your face before you get your sentence fully out. I understand that customers can be difficult but I am not that kind of customer and no one should be treated that way. I then went to do the survey again while waiting on my food and presented her with the code. She takes over 10 minutes to go verify so I left because my food was getting cold. In addition, i asked for no bacon on my turkey sandwich because I dont eat red meat and it was rung up that way but they still put bacon on my sandwich and barely put any sauce. Oh and she also didnt ask what chips I wanted and just gave me baked lays. I am not pleased with my experience at this location and this is one of a few incidents recently.
