Wawa — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This new Wawa location recently opened along General Booth Blvd. in Virginia Beach, VA. It is located at the corner of General Booth Blvd. and Prosperity Rd. There is an entrance and exit to this place from both roads. My visit here was on June 10, 2023.

I've been going to Wawa in the area for quite a while. I had been waiting for this new location to open as it's the now the closest location to me, so I don't have to travel as far now. I had planned to come to a Wawa anyways, but I found out this location was now open, so this is where I went.

When I came up to the place, it was already hopping, especially at the gas pumps. There seems to be ample parking available, as traffic tends to come in and out pretty quickly. I can see this being busy in the future too, given how close they are to NAS Oceana as well. The outside of the place looks like any other Wawa I have been to, but this was definitely the biggest Wawa I have been to in this area. Gas pumps are available here, as well as Tesla electric charging stations. This is one of the bigger gas stations I have seen at any Wawa too.

Coming inside, the place was very busy, but things were moving along quite well. I wanted to look around the place first. On the left side of the entrance, you will see a beer cooler and ice cold drinks. Other common staples are over in that area too. In the middle, you will see the fresh food area, where you can order hoagies and many other things. The in store pick up is there too. On the right side of the store, you can find the tobacco counter, as well as other food type items. Registers are located near the main entrance. There is an entrance from the back as well.

I was coming in thinking was going to get a hoagie bowl. However, when I was looking at their menu, they had some new items available, so I ended up going with a Chipotle Pulled Pork meal with black beans and mashed potatoes. After getting home, I had this, and they had really good portion sizes for the pulled pork as well. The food was good, and it was definitely filling too.

Overall, this was a very good first of many visits to this new Wawa location. They have so many different options that there really is something for everyone here. The staff were very friendly and quick too. If you're in the area and looking for a good place to grab some gas or get some quick food items, you should definitely...

Buckle up yall this is the craziest food service I’ve had in a while. I go into Wawa for a hoagie. I clicked the tab “hot hoagies” and customized my sandwich. 10 mins later I get the sandwich and I notice it’s not hot, not even warm. I open it, cheese isn’t melted and the chicken on it is cold with none of the sauce I asked for. I waited a while for this sandwich so I was like huh I’m just going to go back in and ask them to heat it and add sauce. I go up to the counter and this very kind lady was understanding and told me just reorder it on the kiosk and she’ll let them know it’s a remake. I order it, and she takes the new slip with the new number to show them it’s a remake and told me to keep my old number. So at this point I don’t have an idea what the new number was because I don’t have the slip. Well another 10 mins or so goes by and I hear someone call the number 184. This is where it gets a little comedic. He called the number again but louder and faster. He then Starts screaming the number and he started to sound like a bear. Like genuinely he was so loud and angry it just looked and sounded animalistic. Don’t know if he was having a bad day but damn dude it’s gonna be ok. Anyways, the only way I found out it was mine after 30 seconds of him screaming is because he said “it’s a remake”. So I was like wait that’s me. I go up there and was like “hey it’s mine” and he goes “the reason your sandwich was not toasted and cold is because with the chicken you can’t toast it, there’s no option for that you have to special ask the workers” and I was like “oh well I ordered it under the tag hot hoagies so I figured it would be toasted” and he goes “hot hoagies and toasted hoagies are two different things that’s why” I was like “ok😀” because I don’t even know what to say or how to respond to that. The kicker is, all that screaming and the sandwich wasn’t even done. He just wanted to tell me the facts about the Wawa sandwiches. I still had to wait for them to make it after all that. Anyways, if you are the bear sounding dude thanks for giving me a laugh and I hope your night got better, and if you are the lady at the counter who was kind to help me I hope you have a blessed day and you are the reason for the second star on this rating Also the woman who made the second hoagie did a very good job it...

I went into get dinner had the mailer coupons for free burger and side....I went directly to food counter two girls just stared at me finally one said....you got a problem? Not hello may I help you...hello do you need something? I said I have these coupons and wanted to know if it was a specific burger ...she said read the fine print it will tell you....if I could read the print would have........I placed my order and ask if fries are a side to connect with my coupons....she said yes....then when I got to register the shift manager said fries are not a side.....the rude attitudes and lack of customer service is unacceptable. This is crazy for a brand new location to treat customers like this. I will not return and I will let my friends and family know this place is not acceptable for...
