Zero's Subs — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I went in during the 5 o'clock hour last weekend to get a half sub to snack on while working. There were three people behind the counter - 2 females and 1 male. The two young ladies who assisted with my indecisiveness (one was lining baking sheets w/ bacon and the younger one was cashier) were both not only very pleasant but, had nice smiles (cost nothing), and were knowledgeable of the menu when helping me decide. Both of these young ladies have promising futures if they choose to work with others and certainly are assets to this Zero's. Together, they make an awesome team! NOTE: Only leaving 3 🌟 🌟 🌟 for two reasons and will edit if warranted. Minus 1🌟 because the Turkey sub could have used 2-3 slices of tomatoes and onions (there were none of both!) and a tad bit more of the oil/vinegar/herbs mixture typically used in combination with tomatoes and onions to give it the taste of a traditional 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Millenial Zero's sub as they were assembled for customers for decades before the original business was franchised out. A 2nd 🌟 was removed due to the guy who typically runs this Zero's, during the late afternoons/evenings, for not being personable and/or customer oriented which lends an uncomfortable atmosphere to the transaction when ones tastebuds are craving two different types of subs and his stare is blaring "come on lady, make up your mind!" If he's the owner ...well, best to leave it at that because he, like the rest of us whose bills are paid by the customers we work with, knows what he needs to do. Hoping the next Zero's sub is not...

I love zeros, but this one is disgusting. On a sunday around lunch time there was 1 girl behind the counter. They were out of lettuce(the girl was very apologetic)- which isn’t a big deal, but it’s a sandwich shop. I got a combo for around $17. I didn’t see any red flags until I went to the soda machine. There was mold all in the bottom of the machine, hair all over the faceplates and it was the nasty. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. I got a drink and my food, and just left. When I got to my car I poured the drink out because I was too sketched out that I’d catch something if I drank it. I went to dollar tree and grabbed a water, got back in my car and couldn’t bring myself to actually eat the sandwich because if the drink machine looked like that- I’m scared of what the equipment behind the counter looks like. I did see 2 employees walking back to zeros with lettuce from Walmart, but they were walking so slow with no urgency. Seems like the kids working need...

This place is horrible because of the employees. I came here and got terrible service. I ordered 4 subs and was only given 3, and one of them was a completely different sub than what we ordered. They they made the right 2 subs and didn't put very much sauce it was was a joke. I went back to get more sauce and they said no they layed it out and they would have to charge me extra. These people were completely rude, and zoned out. I think they were high. Stay away anyplace else has better service. And I even tipped them in their jar when I made my initial order, that was...
