&Pizza located in the Reston Town Center is a different approach to the traditional triangle and square pizzas. &pizza (pronounced "And Pizza") is an American fast casual pizza restaurant chain, with 55 locations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The restaurant sells personal and customizable oblong-shaped pizzas. They tailor each location to its neighborhood, with local artists designing the interiors. Some locations serve beer, wine, and cocktails. This location is near several parking lots, so don't expect to park on the street, especially when there is a lot of human traffic. I managed to park on the street by a corner, but it was a challenge to park in between two crevices that didn't completely understand why the white lines existed for designated spaces. Once I got into the &pizza, I was greeted with hip-hop music that was not too heavy but set the right tone. It's small with enough seats to dine in, which I did. I ordered the best seller, Maverick, which is the equivalent of a meat lover's. I also ordered a Pineapple Jackd to go. The pizza was excellent, especially with the black olives I added at the pickup point. Well, let's get to the heat news. The pizza was awesome. It was cooked to temperature that made it possible to eat right away. The portions were ideal for one person; however, I have an astonishing appetite, which is why I ordered another to go. Cooks the bottom line is &Pizza is a must visit. The atmosphere, the people, and the service were awesome....
Read moreA great place to get pizza in the Reston area &pizza is a fast-casual pizza franchise that has carved out a place in the food world with its modern, customizable approach to pizza. Founded in 2012 by Michael Lastoria and Steve Salis, the first &pizza opened in Washington, D.C. Customers have the ability to build their own pizzas with a wide array of doughs, sauces, cheeses, and toppings, all prepared quickly in front of them. This personalized approach has resonated with pizza lovers seeking more than just a typical slice. The franchise has expanded significantly, with over 30 locations in cities like Washington, D.C., New York, and Philadelphia. I recently tried the one near the Reston Town Center at the northwest corner of Library and Democracy Streets. It is a corner space on street level. There is not a lot of tables for seating so stake out your place quickly. There were screens where you order and pay for you pizza. In a few minutes it will be ready and they will call your name that you input when ordering. The price is reasonable. The pizza was a large flatbread type pizza. I ordered a pepperoni and really liked the taste. The space itself was a little dirty but that was to be expected with the volume of customers that they were serving and the speed of table turnover when I visited. The pizza was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I liked the idea and hope that they open one...
Read moreMy honest impression of &pizza is that the food is good on the rare occasion that they do not mess up your order. AND that ordering from them as a vegan is basically impossible. Years ago (not at the Reston location), they listed on their menu that regular cheese was vegan. I emailed their corporate office with pictures to highlight that this was actually inaccurate and from a food-safety perspective I find the issue to be quite alarming as dairy is a fairly common allergy. The corporate office claimed to resolve the issue. Now, if I go onto their online website and filter for vegan options, it still shows me options with cheese & dairy. Frankly I find this to be incredibly misleading. I should be able to trust that their vegan search results are in fact vegan. If I attempt to build my own pizza through the website, it does not show if some options are vegan or not. Is the balsamic vegan? I presume it is, but IDK. If you attempt to place the order through UberEats, UberEats does not even show those vegan options that are listed on the website. I basically have to use UberEats and the company's faulty filtering feature to figure out what I can order. Then for literally the second time, the pizza that was delivered (after paying delivery fees and automatically tipping the driver) was not even vegan. Sure it had arugula on it, but it also had feta and pepperoni!...
