This is not your typical restaurant! This feels more like dining at a wonderful Indian family's home, and just as welcoming. Upon entering for the first time, nothing is conventional... you essentially walk into the kitchen counter, chefs and staff busy making food right there.. We were greeted and made to feel at home right away! We were walked through the menu, and sampled various dishes to insure they had each one of our heat profiles down perfectly. Ordering was easy, and we took all the recommendations offered. We dined in, although you can tell many do takeout orders.
The food was unbelievable! The flavor combinations and overall perfection of spice, flavor, and everything came together harmoniously! Soon the owner came out to make sure we were enjoying everything. Soon enough we had struck up a conversation and he asked my daughter to please, play the piano.. As she did, he sat and listened.. he is such a gift, and made her feel so wonderful.
This, is what sets this family kitchen apart. We were guests, welcomed into this lovely family and enjoyed every second. Yes, the food MUST be had.. 100%. But to dine there, and feel the love and warmth of this family... is worth more than any cost of the food. From the host, guiding us through getting the perfect meal, to our lovely waitress, being so excited for our first taste... to the wonderful man who made my shy daughter feel so welcomed, she played in public..
I'm truly grateful for this place, and these amazingly charming people.

Read moreMy wife heard about Annie's Indian Kitchen from a co-worker that advised if we enjoy Indian cuisine this place is a must. We love food from various cultures and enjoy trying new restaurants. Today we decided to venture into Annie's. The first impression is that this restaurant is strictly take out, but the eat in area is in the back. The chef/owner met us with a smile, made some recommendations and gave us samples to try to ensure we would be satisfied with the selections. Once we ordered, we went to the back and sat down. Someone already pointed out the type of dinnerware you receive, however the taste of the food and the hospitality of the owner and staff were wonderful! Prince does like to make recommendations on how to eat the dishes he presents. For us, this was interpreted as being passionate about his food. Honestly, this was the best Indian food we have had in Lynchburg! We ordered the Chicken Chili, fresh caught salmon with a butter curry sauce, rice, bread and yogurt sauce. It was all AMAZING! One thing to note when ordering is that food items are ordered separately which is where the cost can increase. We plan to return and enjoy their...
Read moreThis is a fabulous restaurant run by amazing humans. My family had just attended a funeral and over 30 of us decided, last-minute, that we wanted to eat at an Indian restaurant together. We found Annie’s through a google search. None of us had been there before. We called and asked if they could accommodate 30+ people in 30 minutes and couldn’t believe it when they said “of course!” When we arrived there were a few customers and after they left, the owners treated us to a private party. With zero notice they were able to create amazing dishes - vegetarian, mild, spicy, halal, soups, dessert, biryani - everything we asked for and more. It was an amazing feast. They kept fresh paratha bread flowing and treated us to a special salmon curry near the end of our meal. Annie’s Indian Kitchen fed not only our bodies but that time together also nourished our souls. Our family had come from across the globe and this restaurant provided us with food and space we didn’t know we needed. We can’t thank...
