We had a great experience! So wonderful to see more Middle Eastern food coming to Lynchburg. We have a big family and got a selection of different items. Our favorites were definitely the shawarma gyro (which has that wonderful shaved meat!), orange rice, the chips and spiced fries, the tzatziki sauce, and the Mediterranean bowl. I also particularly enjoyed the falafel which was really authentic and excellent in flavor. Pita is fluffy and light too!

Thoughts for improving the experience: definitely need to add some upgrades for more of a dine in feel. Instead of styrofoam boxes I would recommend plating dine-in meals and using trays. Also, I did like the Mediterranean bowl being in a plastic lidded container instead of styrofoam, but I do think it would be more elegant to separate out the toppings a bit on top to create a brighter color contrast and help you see what you are diving into. Especially offering hummus and tzatziki in larger bowls, and even offering an appetizer tray with a variety of foods, sauces, and olives and such would be...

After all of the rave reviews I have been so excited to try this place. However, I was extremely disappointed. Especially now sitting here sick because of what I am about to share.

The seasoned fries were good. I would give them a 8/10.

I usually enjoy grape leaves, but these ones were greasy. I picked them up to eat them and could only eat one because of the amount of grease pouring out and under them. I would give these a 2/10.

Finally, I had the shawarma gyro. Do I dare say you can find a better gyro at Arby’s? Five minutes after driving home and unwrapping my gyro I started to unwrap it and grease was pouring out. It seemed as though all of the grease from the cooking was poured into the gyro and over the grape leaves. Sadly I don’t think I will be back.

I threw half of my Gyro away and two of the three grape leaves away.

It’s a shame because the prices were good, and the...

I recently dined at Downtown Cairo in Lynchburg, and I must say it was an exceptional experience! The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, hitting all the right notes for my taste buds. The service was outstanding - not only was it quick, but the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.

It's evident that whoever is running this place really knows what they are doing. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and taken care of. As someone who eats out in Lynchburg frequently, I can confidently say that Downtown Cairo stands out as a top-notch dining spot. We will definitely be going back soon, and I will definitely be having this for dinner tonight as well. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a warm and...

My favorite food truck got an eat-in location nearby! Open nights other places aren't. Deliciously seasoned food prepared fresh. The Pharoah plates are the way to go. I was disappointed a bit in the bowl. I think it would be great in a wider container with ingredients organized in groups, to be more appealing and I could choose my bite better than all the ingredients spread. The Styrofoam boxes on tables that are in rough shape wasn't what I was hoping for. For now, this is a great place to get Pharoah plates to go. This place works hard all the time, and I know this is the start of something great.

We had an AMAZING lunch at the restaurant. It was our second time and the food quality is GREAT. Today we tried the lunch Gyro Combo and the Habibi Fries. For the Gyro I chose Shawarma as my protein…totally delicious! Make sure you try it. The Cajun fries and their shata sauce had some kick. The Habibi fries were yummy and have Shawarma, tomatoes, dill pickles, pickled onions, feta and Kalamata olives topped with Habibi sauce. Staff is kind and greets you with a smile. They have lunch and dinner portions available. Stop in and enjoy.
