I usually enjoy the food & atmosphere here, so I decided to have dinner back in October the 21st. I was with a couple of family members. When we entered, there was a few people waiting. The young woman with the yellow or pink hair doing the seating seemed confused. Thank goodness there was an older gentleman who walked up & guided her. We were seated after about 15 minutes. The waitress came & introduced herself & gave us menus. The place was pretty packed. We ordered the dollarita drinks. My dinner mate wasn't impressed, he said that it was too sweet. My other dinner mate ordered a different drink. I continued to order the dollaritas because of the price..The menu is confusing! I do not like it,& I'm the type who actually enjoys looking at menus! I ordered a dish & two things became an issue, it came back with pork crumbles on it! WHERE does it say that it has pork at??!! The other issue was the price. I thought it was one price, but it was not, it was a higher price. They have things in columns..For me that is confusing! I asked the older gentleman who had helped at the door about the pork & he explained something about if there is a star down below, (in VERY small writing) SMH...it's just silly that they don't put the word pork in the description! It was a pasta dish, I tried eating around the bacon or whatever, but I just ended up giving the plate to the waitress.. The man was kind enough to deduct my dish from the check. My dinner mate who I was treating for a special occasion ordered a steak. That was dry, no onions!!, no sauce!!, & dryyyy broccoli!!, Another waitress came& placed a side dish that was not even an option for his dish. She said something like it was sitting back there in the kitchen or something & she thought that maybe he would want it. We said that we wanted the mash potatoes that comes with the steak...My other dinner mate had the best dish!!, baked chicken, mashed potatoes with mushrooms. I told him that too, it looked good. I decided to take a break from the underwhelming dolloritas & ordered a frozen drink. That was not impressive either!! Our waitress was not very friendly& hardly seemed to have any time for us. Didn't offer refills on water.. My no tip was my way of saying to her do a better job!! I use to say that Applebees is one of my favorite places, but I can no longer say that!! So disappointing!! & it will be a long while...
Read moreI stopped by for a good meal to jump start my birthday April 7th. I was seated and given the waitress Chloe S. Chloe S. in which is the name on the receipt given. She took my order and was given instruction to hold off on the second order to go, until I was finish. Chloe brought my meal out to the table and I began to proceed to eat. I was on my third bite when Chloe S., came to my table and asked for payment. I was bothered by her actions at this point, I explained that I was in the mist of eating my meal in which was just presented to me, not even five minutes ago and that I may want dessert. Chloe S. even brought my second order out in a bag and placed it on the table right in front of me while I was trying to eat my first order. I asked for a manager and Kristen was presented. I expressed and explain to Kristen how unsatisfied I was with Chloe level of service that was not acceptable. The manager Kristen responded, stating that Chloe had received some good feedback from other. I replied and said her service was terrible and Kristen stated she was new. I said, being a manager it is your responsibility that your staff is properly trained before being placed alone on the floor. Kristen never tried to rectify the situation or try to change my experience to a pleasing one. Instead I received excuses as far as, I'm still in vacation mode. I was not please and asked for her manager information and phone number. She stated she will get a email address for me and walked offed. I was just bothered, applaud, about the level of poor customer service and management.
Ashley a waitress that just walked by but, could tell I wasn't happy, offered to assist me to try to change the atmosphere . She was awesome ,she offered me a refill on a drink that was never refill by Chloe, she assisted with retrieving my second meal that was ordered and my receipt once, I had finish my dinner. She was great, sweat, so helpful, and willing to please. Thank you so much Ashley..... However Kristen and Chloe need...
Read moreWent here for a friend's birthday. Came in at 9:30pm and was told that the soup that the birthday girl wanted they were out of, so she picked a different one. I get it, it was later at night restaurants run out of things, but the soup she got instead was gross, greasy, and and pretty much all cheese, and ended up sending it back. I ordered a brunch burger and was then told by the manager that they didn't have eggs for it, so they were going to the store to get some and that she would bring the egg out when they got back. Our food took about 40mins and the bar drinks were slow, especially the second round. The server did not do refills on beverages quickly either, although she was very kind. When we finally got our food, mine came with cheese on it and I asked for no cheese because I am lactose intolerant. Not only, did it come without egg the first time because they were not back from the store yet, but I couldn't even eat it. They took it back and got me a new one, but didn't offer for me to keep the fries to snack on while I waited. We had to ask for side sauces twice before receiving them as well. Once most of my table was done with their food, I finally got mine. It was decent, at least they comped it for me. The took care of the soup my friend did not like as well, but I was shocked they did not take care of her dessert we ordered for her birthday after having a bad experience. Overall, I think the service and management needs to be fine tuned. I know it is just Applebee's, a casual chain restaurant, but I at least expect my server to remove empty cups when I get a refill or the manager to remove a dirty plate on their way by after talking with us. I am a restaurant manager, so I just see these simple things as the way it should be at any restaurant. It should be common sense to do those things and it makes the guests...
