Went here last night for dinner as a solo diner, and had an awesome experience. My server, Derek, was super helpful and attentive, and gave great service!! This place is really cool because you can do both KBBQ and hotpot for one price. If you are dining solo, you only have the option of one broth choice for hotpot (you can't do 2 split broths, only one broth option per person, which makes sense, no complaints!)
They have a buffet bar in the middle of the restaurant where you can make your own sauces, and a giant selection of side items. They have kimchi, seasonings, soy sauce, ssamjang, desserts, etc. If you can think of it, they have it. Plenty of meat options and veg options to pick from on the menu. They have seating for large parties as well (call ahead and let them know you are coming if you have a big party, though - that's just food service etiquette).
Some reviews mention that they "make you fill up on filler items from the buffet bar" and that they don't advertise this place as all-you-can-eat.... Which is incorrect. It says AYCE on the website when you Google the restaurant. Some basic research shows this is an AYCE experience. They do not force you to eat "filler" items; you can get as much meat as you like. You have free will and pick what you want to eat...
Other reviews mention that they lock the door an hour before closing - I'm not sure if this is true, but why would you try to go to get KBBQ or hot pot an hour before closing? There isn't enough time to eat, and then the restaurant is left to either kick you out or stay open, which keeps the hardworking staff from getting home to their families after a day of work. Come at a decent time. Another review from last week says that they came as a solo-diner at 9:31pm and was turned away and they "won't be returning" ..... So you went there expecting to only eat for 30 minutes? Let's be so serious here..... Come at a decent time where you have atleast an hour and a half to eat lol.
I'm pleased to find this place in RVA, especially because most really great KBBQ/hot pot experiences are only in NOVA/bigger cities. I will be back...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying this place. I eat Korean bbq and hot pot in northern Virginia(Annandale) all the time and I love it. I was SO excited to hear that one opened in Richmond. However, Hot Pot 757 was a let down. The atmosphere is really nice. Super spacious, really nice decor. A robot named Bella leads you to your table, which to be honest, is an unnecessary gimmick. The robot kept veering into every persons table that we walked past until we finally reached our table all the way at the back of the restaurant. Our waitress was nice but super inattentive. We had to go and find another server at one point and then another time, we had to ask one of the food runners for help as well because our waitress would literally just disappear for long periods of time (it was not busy either). Unlike most other Korean bbq restaurants, the waiters here do not cook the meat for you, which is fine as me and my friend know how to use the grill. But the waiters also never change out the grill for a new one, so the meat ends up being completely black with charred residue from the dirty grill that hasn’t been changed. Every other korean bbq place I’ve been to, they regularly change out the grill. The waitress never checked to see if we needed drink refills. She would go to the table next to ours to check on them but then not even check on us which was strange. When ordering steak, you should always be given scissors to cut it into pieces, which we had to ask one of the food runners for. Our waitress also never even noticed that our grill had turned itself off at one point. We had to figure out how to turn it back on ourselves. Super simple things, like having a sign that tells you where the restrooms are, are non existent. There is nothing to direct you to where they are, so myself and another customer were wandering around looking for the restroom. Overrall, the food was ok, the restaurant is nice…but we were so let down by the service. Not sure if...
Read moreMy family and I(Fiance and mom) first discovered HotPot 757 on our family vacation back in end of May in the Va Beach location, when we wanted to try something new. It was close by to our hotel and was like let’s go! We fell in love with the concept and food choices. Since it was our first time, it was so exciting and we wanted to try everything. Only thing bad about that is, your stomach won’t let you lol So when we came back to Richmond, to our surprise, we saw there was a Richmond HotPot757 on Broad. We had to go that first Saturday back home and been there every Saturday and make it our routine and part of our errands. We live far near Ft. Lee area so there’s nothing like this where we live, so it’s worth the drive. When this Midlothian location open, we were exited to find that is CLOSER to drive for us so it’s a BONUS to us! From the awesome variety of food, to the beautiful atmosphere, to cleanliness throughout, to the wonderful staff. Every staff we encounter have been awesome and attentive. The manager at each visit will come to the tables and check on the customers. If you are a HotPot/BBQ place to try for the first time, you will NOT be disappointed!! My fiancé favorite is the bbq. My mom favorite is the pork bone flavor hot pot. I would change, depends on my mood when I get there lol At first it may be overwhelming but a good overwhelming. But, like us, we did a trial and error and order what we want to try and if we don’t like it, move on and try the next thing, it’s all you can eat. Now they just started a lunch menu for weekday only as well, which we found out recently. Only tip I recommend is come with a...
