I used to REALLY LOVE Whole Foods A LOT. Hands down my favorite grocery store. That has changed over the years since Amazon bought them out. Definitely gone downhill. Especially the cashier service. They put a bunch of self service machines in. If I have one or two items and want to get out quick, they are fine. But if I'm doing a bigger grocery run and I'm paying $2-3 more for some items as I'd pay at Publix, Wegmans or Kroger...I want better customer service for the extra cost. I want a real checkout human being who is much better at bagging groceries than my "bagging challenged" butt. I enjoy the social interaction between two humans. I think they have become more about profit and less about service since Bezo's got involved. I still shop there because I work within a short walking distance and it's very convenient to stop there on the way home after work. But I'm disappointed with the changes Amazon has made. I can't think of a single one I like. Fortunately, we have plenty of other grocery stores to choose from in the Short Pump area. My favorite experience overall has...
Read moreWoh!! Is what I say. This Arbys makes my local Charlottesville and Waynesboro Arbys look like run down trailer parks. The food was very good, probably the best arbys roast beef I've had. But the decor is what really got me excited. It had a imitation rustic log cabin thing going on. Gas fire place, large totem pole, canoes way up in the ceiling, cool 8 top rustic table and chairs, nice soft fabric on the chairs, small tree growing in side, some front porch old style chairs that your grandparents might sit on and watch the world pass. It also has an ice cream.....parlor? Place? It was named Cool Blue, I think, and a taco/burrito bar in it as well. Actually had condiments on the table with their A.A. bbq sauce which was good, plus ketchup, hot sauce, s&p, napkins, etc. Really felt like a real restaurant vs a fast food place. Another thing that I noticed, but even with all the high up stuff, totem, canoes, really high ceilings, rafters etc, it was apparent they dust regularly, so even high up was clean, the place looked really nice and I now dislike my local versions. Way...
Read moreArby’s has the meats (and even whole chickens at this location), but the cowboy theme felt more cafeteria with sticky floors.
Ordering was confusing, the counter space made no sense, and my sauce request got me 2 Arby’s packets… and 20 ketchups and the fella grumbled when i asked for them, weird flex, but I used them on hot dogs at home, so still a win. At least the fountain soda was perfectly carbonated and calibrated perfectly…credit where it’s due.
They have the meats and meets at this location cause you could dine a small army with all that space in the dining room. They have stuffed wild game animals (not alive) peppered throughout all for the visual taking.
Cool spot, would hope they work cleanliness metrics into the scope of work the management team focuses on cause it seemed pretty lackluster.
Get after it...
