This café gets ONE star;

one star for great food made to order in a timely manner.

Unfortunately I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for a horrible customer service experience earlier today. Because their website's online ordering was not available, I decided to call and place a to-go order. I have done this many many times in the past with no issues. Today was my first time that was so upsetting I had to calm myself down before coming up in-person to place an order. I called and began to give my order for pickup. At first, "Kathleen" or "Cathleen" answered the phone and told me online ordering was available when it really wasn't. She gave me an attitude at that point and began to take my order. At the end, she demanded me to make the payment over the phone which I was not at all comfortable with doing. I told her I have been a repeat customer of Breeze Bakery Cafe since 2016 and I was never once asked to provide payment information over the phone, especially for an order that was less than $20.

I asked why I would need to give my payment information over the phone for a to-go order that can be paid in person. I explained to her I've placed many to-go orders over the phone without having to make payment and had no issues. Furthermore, I also explained to her it is a matter of security issues because as a customer, I do not know who is answering the phone nor can see them myself so I would not know if they record credit card information by paper then input it in the POS. She still did not care and she actually hung up on me. Needless to say she was surprised when I came in person and she was very apologetic.

DO NOT GIVE PAYMENT INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE FOR ANYONE, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OR PRIVATE BUSINESSES ALIKE EVEN IF YOU'RE A LONG TIME CUSTOMER, YOU NEVER KNOW. WHY INCREASE ODDS OF CREDIT CARD FRAUD IF YOU CAN AVOID IT? SHAME ON THIS EMPLOYEE FOR TRYING TO GET MY INFORMATION...

Coffee was ok, donut was excellent, location not bad. But, if you enjoy service and getting your order right, stop right there. Super Cheap ownership and pess than good service. Ordered a Doppio Espresso with little extra ht water in a small (12oz) cup, NOT an Americano along with a delicious lemon cake doughnut. Received a coffee drink filled to the brim. When I asked the young girl what it was, she didn’t know. I explained to her what I wanted and she (with an attitude after I misunderstood her) made me an Espresso with hot water on the side. The hot water was given in a Styrofoam cup, so I asked the owner/manager(?) for a 12 oz cup, she asked the girl to hand it to me before she told her to charge me for it and repeating to her but for my benefit “we charge for cups”. I explained to her the situation, and she said “oh so you wanted an Americano” to which I replied no. I want a slightly diluted Espresso, like I order it multiple times a day (3-4 doubles daily) from different coffee shops in the DMV. My usual spots will make a very short Americano (1:1 ratio) otherwise I learned to ask for it this way so as to not confuse anyone. Bottomline, in my 10+ yrs of ordering the same coffee, this is the first time anyone has tried to charge for a cup! What she didn’t know was that not Only was I planning on ordering my friend’s BDay cake from there after tasting the donut, but I had started to think about bringing my groups for our weekly coffee meetups and monthly brunches. Guess where I will never set foot at again? Breeze bakery! Yep, fussing about $0.25 for a cup After spending $8 for coffee/small treat, they just lost $100s in potential business and probably more… hope it...

I love this bakery . Breeze offers true French pastries but also all kind of Korean novelties. And their gelato is absolutely delicious . Unfortunately last Saturday, deciding to go out , since spending a month in a hospital, and walking with a cane ,just up the ramp near the entrance of the bakery, had a horrible experience. A young man with a gray hood,that was standing with his friend just at the beginning of the ramp, violently grabbed my handbag from under my arm , and as I turned, saw him running away with it . The police were called and did a magnificent job in trying to pursue the criminal , since they also have video of the incident . The detective gave me a lot of information and said they were doing everything possible to apprehend him .And that he would call me in a few days . The owner of the bakery was very gracious and accommodating . In that bag , I had things that. If used and cashed , could have ruined me . Including checks , credit cards , medical insurance cards and my phone . The owner lent my her phone and the police found numbers for me to call to cancel my cards and checks . . I live in the Wedgewood apartments, which are 3 minutes away and with Breeze are also in a very safe areas. I was so shaken that something like that could happen at 3 o’clock in the afternoon . Still in disbelief and bewildered . That goes to show you. , that we must be always vigilant of our surroundings , because even the unexpected can always happen . Of course I will continue to visit Breeze , where I always take my grandchildren when home from college . The place is fantastic , and I am sorry that so many people had to...

I purchased this 7-grain loaf bread based on the ingredients label placed on the shelf that did not indicate nuts as part of the ingredients. There is no ingredients list on the bread packaging. My child, who is allergic to certain nuts, had an immediate allergic reaction (itchy tongue and throat, throat tightening, lip swelling) immediately after having a bite of the bread, which resulted a visit at an urgent care and medications to stop the allergic reactions. I later returned to the store to verify the ingredients used and the manager provided the bakery ingredients listed on the box of blend they use for this bread. While I was allowed to take pictures of the ingredients list on the box (so that I can check with my allergist doctor), I was told to do it faster as they were busy. I asked the manager if nuts were used and I was told no. I asked them to still check the bread and check out the tiny pieces on the bread that looked like nuts and the manager responded (without even looking at the bread) that nuts were not used and they were careful about it. I further asked them to list the individual grain ingredients on the ingredients label for consumer safety and the manager said yes but after the holidays as they were currently busy for the holidays. Overall, the attitude and tone of the manager was defensive and not friendly, and the manager did not show any empathy or care about consumer safety when someone actually had an allergic reaction to their bread product. The store did not show responsibility for their bread products by not listing the main ingredients used on the packaging or at the minimum on the shelf.

Its an awesome place. Food is, most of the time, on the money. But there are days in which you regret it. Today was not a totally regret day but a tad anoying. Why? Wait time for food is more than some restaurants when you order a complicated dish. Almost 20 minutes to get a couple of sandwiches...WTH? And you have 2 options, or wait standing for your food or come and go seeing if your food is ready. It used to be faster but now a days it takes a good while even when its not busy. Today my roast beef was spicy. I'm ordering something that I'm used to without the heat but this one came spicy. My bad for not reading the ingredients. But honestly it was good. The heat took away from the flavor. I assume some like it hot...get it? Return Factor 100%. I don't care if there are days the food is a total miss. Its like a great marriage, the majority of the days is good but somedays things just don't add up. What I would like to see more, some of the employees are stone face. A bit of a smile will do wonders for repeat business.

Looking for a low key place (with just the right ambiance for cozy cute coffee) to work from home, grab a coffee with a friend or munch on a dessert during a study break? Enter Breeze Bakery Cafe ~ the perfect place to get all three! With 2 stories, the place is spacious, comfortable and easy. Order what you want, browse the desserts and enjoy the wifi! Music plays over the speakers so the vibe stays light and the 2nd floor gets lots of natural sun. I came for a work from home outing and will be returning. I got the bulgogi quesadilla with homemade chips and the hazelnut latte. I also got a small collection of baked goods (sweet rice donut and red bean donut). I'd say their strengths are baked goods. Haven't had the gelato yet but will next round. Quesadilla wasnt the dream come true I had though it would be. But the baked goods and environment more than made up for it. Staff sweet too. Fair warning - there is one bathroom. Good news is that it is pristine. Thank you Breeze Bakery Cafe! I will be a repeat customer.
