Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Virginia

I love Bruster's Ice Cream. Very good quality ice cream. I like to treat myself and my daughter at least twice a month too. It was very busy at the time of our visit and two people working the window. We were greeted once it was our time to order and we were apologized for the wait ( I appreciated that even though I knew it wasn't her fault they were shorthanded and very busy). My daughter asked to sample the New York Style ice cream (I think it is always a plus to sample a flavor to make sure it great to our taste buds before buying). Needless to say, my daughter gets 2 scoops of the New York Style ice cream on a waffle cone. I always get the Regular Waffle Cone (it comes with 3 scoops of any flavor you want. Mix and match the flavors as you please). I always get one scoop of the Mint Chocolate Chip ( my favorite ice cream flavor in the world). My other two flavors this time was Graham Cracker Central and Chocolate Chip. It doesn't take long to get our order. I am different from most and have to always order my waffle cone with a bowl and spoon. I was craving this icecream for the past seven months. We had some things happen that delayed our efforts to get our order in on a timely manner and when we had our order picked up a minute past closing, we received nothing but kindness. I was literally crying I felt so bad yet they were so kind. I regretted placing the order once I realized that they make pints in house and it would be picked up at closing. At that point, I didn’t want to make things more complicated by canceling it after it was already placed, so I just went forward with keeping the order for two pints. They were nothing but kind. Maybe they’re used to people running to icecream during heartaches or maybe they are just kind people, but I would bet money it’s both.

First of all, this is amazing ice cream. We moved from Pittsburgh and were thrilled to find a Bruster's close to our new home. We went on a chilly evening and I was pleased to see that there were lots of picnic tables set far enough apart that even if the place had been crowded, we could have enjoyed our ice cream safely without having to sit in the car. On my most recent visit, I had cinnamon ice cream which is a particular favorite of mine and is hard to find. It was perfect. Just enough cinnamon, not too sweet, with a nice cinnamon "bite". My husband had ice cream with apple and a little bit of caramel and he was very pleased with it. From where we live, it's a bit of a trek, but it's worth it for a special treat. After a month of remote school, my granddaughter definitely deserved a treat and she selected Bruster's. I hope she has...
