Not just another chain eatery. So I've visited a few times. The food is good. Sean always does right by you. If something goes amiss he will make it right. I've never had anything go amiss. It's one of the few places that has a happy hour on a Saturday. This is a lovely thing. They have an excellent selection of gluten free dinner options, even pasta. I just took part of their first ever brunch. Sign up for their emails for the invites. They have wine dinners and all kinds of stuff to RSVP for. So the brunch was amazing! They had menu choices I may not select just to order for myself but I'm so glad I got to try them because I actually really liked everything served food wise and most of the beverages served with each course. There were 6 of us who attended in our party and we all had a great time. It was family style seating, so long tables and the entire brunch crowd seated together. But it wasn't as if you're all piled on top of each other. Plenty of elbow space and room for the attendants to walk without bumping anyone. We were enjoying ourselves so much that I forgot to take more photos of the brunch. I'm posting a photo of the first course and the menu for the brunch. The menu was perfect for mid to late summer. It was fun, refreshing and sastifying without being heavy. One course complimented the next course without one overshadowing another. It's had to say if I had a favorite course. I do have a food allergy and so french toast is usually a no go for me. But Sean personally checked and reassured me that this version had no cinnamon. Do you know how long it's been since I've had amazing french toast? And it was amazing. I thought that would be my favorite food dish but the frittata was excellent. I don't care for arugula but whatever they did to wilt it and tossed it with a light lemon citrus dressing was fantastic. I was ready to lick my plate but thought I'd better restrain myself. I'd like to come back. The St. Germaine fizz was by far my favorite drink. They gave you the glass to keep and it has the ingredients and recipe on the glass. I will be attempting to make one at home to see if I can recreate the tastiness. All in all the whole experience was very fun. It was a great way to try food and drinks that I don't normally try. I will be looking to make reservations for the next one! This was the first brunch they offered and I'm sure hoping they will be doing more. The crowd wasn't huge for this one but I expect as word spreads the crowd will grow. Sean and his staff are working hard to create new and inventive ways to keep us wanting to come back. It would be easy to dismiss this as another chain restaurant but it's really not. When you've got a team that's working together as hard as Sean's team is it doesn't matter what label they are working under they are going to succeed. Kudos for a job well done and I am coming back...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying that the hostess & waitstaff was actually very polite, attentive, and good overall and they n themselves were not the problem. MY food was hot and good and also not the issue. All other Carraba's I've been to have been great, especially the one in Williamsburg and have had no issues with food or my tiny, federally registered and properly trained service dog. No other establishments of any kind, including airlines, have had any issues either! The bone of contention, was that my brother, a Vet, mind you, had cold food, and very politely & and only asked for his food to be reheated. Not replaced, discounted or anything else. However, a lady purportedly a manger, came back with lukewarm food on a COLD plate and an incredibly snarky attitude. I can understand we all can have a bad day. Perhaps getting harried if to busy, but it was even during off hours. But we were not being rude or complaining. There was no reason to be rude to us. Additionally, she gets attitude about my service dog, telling me he must be taken off the booth seat (he was in his sling with medical tag/ plus I always have paperwork on hand just in case though I've never needed it except to fly/ and he's medical alert and does need to be by my side for that purpose) and put under table on the floor immediately.. with some some othe rude and condescending incorrect commentary. I've had him for over 10 years as a service dog and have traveled country wide, flown, train, commuter, Ubered, shopped, gone to theaters inc movie and formal, just well everywhere and I have never ever been treated thus. Quite the absolute opposite in fact. He's even gotten a full standing ovation at the end of one our fights for being so well behaved. Which, I was amused but surprised by because he was only doing his job as usual. But he does normally have quite a lil fan club wherever he goes. Normally. Anyways, we found both the rudeness of this and the disdain of lukewarm plate given to my brother a very unappetizing experience and it's doubtful we'll bother doing business with this location again. However, we did not take it out on staff. And I will again say that OTHER locations have been wonderful and we will go where both his service as a Vet, and me as a person, are Valued...
Read moreLike others who have reviewed this establishment as of late, I found the disconnect must lie with the staff; it seems hit or miss from what I gather. The food is decent, even good one may say although nothing exemplary. I do not often spend the time to leave reviews but felt compelled as my dinner out with family this evening really ruined my mood to the point that I did not really eat dinner altogether.
When its not a full house, the last thing you expect is luke warm steaks served to your table one hour exactly after ordering ! The manager was very courteous and offered to comp the meal or recook it although it was almost closing and we had lost our appetite to start the process all over again so late in the evening. Due to my own integrity, I declined the offer and told him I would pay 50% of the entire bill regardless and mentioned I did not even want to take the uneaten luke warm meals. Truly tried to like this place but seems the staff was too busy cleaning silverware next to my dining table instead of paying attention to when our meals were to be served. My assumption is the cook plated the food and it sat there for some time before the waitress decided it would be of good timing to bring out.
Probably best to skip this one at this point unless you enjoy rolling dice with your dinner experience; I hope the manager gets rid of some of the unmotivated staff and brings this place back to what it...
