Inattentive service is a weakness here. We stood around like an invisible wall hanging for EIGHT minutes before three separate staff members ever acknowledged our presence. When one did, he greeted us by saying, "Something I can do for you?" - Very awkward - as if maybe we came by to pick up a used mattress or something?? There was no, "Hi, welcome. Dining in? Yes, right this way. Your server will be right with you." - or any other natural restaurant greeting. Once seated, the service got even worse with a very forgetful staffer. Skip the bruschetta appetizer - the soft bread was not toasted and certainly isn't Italian. Lasagna is good. However, side salads for the Italian entrees are well, just sad - no olives, no cheese and the house Italian dressing was very watery and weak . This was very disappointing. They do make delicious pizza - and I strongly suggest that most diners are best to just stick with pizza. However, our staffer only brought the first pizza ordered and when we inquired about our second one, he said there were many take out pizzas ahead of ours. Finally after 35 minutes, he did bring it...in a box....as opposed to serving it to us with our dinner. Please note also that five minutes prior he also delivered the check and told us we could pay at any time, so I had to again remind him that 1) we weren't through eating and 2) he still owed us a pizza. I guess he figured that we were indeed finished as he proceeded to retrieve the pizza in a take out box. We got the message - and we hope he receives...
Read moreDelicious! We found the restaurant on a Google search for a place that had pizza, pasta, and subs. Castiglia's certainly fit the bill.
I asked about delivery to our hotel, and the gentleman on the phone told me it would be 45-60 minutes and they only take cash for deliveries. It was around 7:20 when I called. We ordered two XL pizzas, spaghetti and Meatballs, Castiglia's sub, two orders of garlic bread with cheese, and a kid's chicken fingers and fries. 45 minutes later, the delivery driver arrived with our food.
My spaghetti and Meatballs was so good that I don't feel the need to go home and make "real" sauce and Meatballs. My husband said his sub was very good, and the people that ate the pizza loved it. The chicken strips were devoured. The garlic bread with cheese tasted like fresh garlic was used. The portions were generous. And the price for all that food was an incredible value! So incredible, in fact, that after I hung up I called back to verify I ordered everyone's food.
We highly recommend giving Castiglia's Italian Restaurant a try. Your stomach and wallet will be...
Read moreThe first time we ordered for delivery the food was great. We were very pleased. The second time it was awful. My husband's alfredo sauce was as runny as water. The menu says crowned with a blackened chicken breast. Doesn't that mean on top? Instead it was cut up in the mixture and barely had blackening seasoning in it. I asked for "al dente" spaghetti with meat sauce. It was totally overcooked. They also forgot our salads and garlic knots.
When I called the guy who answered the phone thought I asked for plates instead of the salad they forgot. He also said that since we ordered garlic bread with cheese, he didn't give us the garlic knots. My husband called back over an hour later, and the next guy said he didn't realize anything was missing from the order! Unfortunately, we won't be ordering from here again. We've been waiting over an hour and a half for the salad and garlic knots. Very unprofessional behavior. Extremely disappointed. Owner, don't try to lie, because these calls are recorded. You should have offered something to make up for your mistake like reputable...
