Chick Fil A is my favorite fast food restaurant. I’ve worked in one before as a Shift Team Lead for 2 years and I never stopped coming because I love the food and the establishment. However, my experience in this location seems to be somewhat consistently not the best. I’ve came here about 5 times just within the last month after moving to this area. 3 out of those 5 times were not good and let me explain those 3 events. 1st - I ordered a spicy deluxe “meal” and I was rung up individual entrees (sandwich, fries and a SMALL drink). Before I paid, I double checked and validated with the cashier and asked her if she charged me a meal and not individual ones because what I’m seeing on the screen of her register was individual items being inputted. The cashier said yes so I trusted her. After I paid and the receipt was given to me, the receipt did show that I was not charged a meal. I know it’s a small difference in terms of $ but I just wished that the cashier was trained better. The second event was when I ordered a meal and a chicken salad wrap through the drive thru. Now I should’ve checked my bag when I got it but I didn’t because it was late in the evening and I was ready to just go home. But when I got home, my wrap was missing and when I called to speak to someone about it, the person told me that I could come back, pick it up, knock on the front door (it was past 10pm) so that he could give to me. I didn’t want to come back because I’m wasting gas and time at that point. I wish a shift lead could have refunded me. The third event was today and I came to pick up a regular spicy chicken sandwich through the drive thru. The person on the headset said that I couldn’t do that because it was 1020 (breakfast is served until 1030) and they’re only serving breakfast. I’m willing to wait in my car or something and willing to pay the higher priced lunch items. When I pulled up to the window to inquire only (didn’t order anything due to dissatisfaction of service), Connie, the shif lead at the time said that Saturdays are busy and the kitchen is already stacked with breakfast only. Now, my experience with other Chick Fil As is not the case. I could order a regular lunch item and also where I worked at before, we were allowed to do it just as long we let the paying, loyal customer that the wait time could be longer. I’ve worked and helped my fellow Cfa kitchen workers before to keep the line moving and I know for a fact that those hard working workers in the back could whip up a regular lunch item. Due to the consistent, unpleasant experiences I’ve had with this location, I hope that this serves as a training and a customer...
Read moreYou usually know what you are getting when you go to a Chick-fil-a. The name speaks for itself. At this particular Chickfilla the staff are friendly and its normally a good experience but some of the kids working there are such in a rush that they sometimes forget about the customer experience. Keep in mind the owner of this one is also the owner of the one near the Dulles Mall (Not in it) by Walmart. They also share employees sometimes between locations too. Important to note if you are comparing Chick-fil-a service in the area.
I will say one negative is that this location tends to not cook the fries all the way through. There is usually a set time to keep them in the frier and it is clear they pull them out way too early. Frequently I leave with the appearance of cooked fries but they are either frozen in the in the center when biting down or just aren't cooked enough that they remain in a greasy soggy state. Easy fix, don't take them out of fryer before the prescribed cook time even in a dining rush.
Also I frequent Chickfilla and have been given one of their VIP cards, basically their rewards program. I frequently forget to swipe or use it. It would be nice to be asked at the register if I have one just like other establishments with rewards programs. In addition the rewards program is not linked to the Chick-fil-a app in any way. The whole program is a little confusing on how it is supposed to work.
Those are my only negatives and beyond this menu is good, the chicken is like a drug I can't get off of, and the dipping sauces are something they should consider selling in stores, especially the Honey-Roasted BBQ packets which I wish they would convert to dipping sauce packets instead of their...
Read moreHad something devastating happen and this morning I realised I hadn't eaten a meal in almost 24 hours, so I went to the nearest drive thru to get some breakfast. I was holding back tears trying to order food. I apologised to the man taking my order for crying and being slow to order. He was very kind.
As I got to the window and picked up my food, a nice woman with bleached blonde hair said they put a brownie in my bag. I was trying to not cry. In the moment I did not process what she was saying. I pulled over and cried, was starving since I hadn't eaten since lunch yesterday. I opened the bag and saw the brownie, and I ate it first. That was such a kind, small gesture.
The receipt said "Dakota" as the cashier. Thank you Dakota, thank you to the woman with blonde hair and red cap, and thank you to the man in the white and red checked shirt and brown hair who took my order over the headset.
These are really hard times right now in this country, and little acts of kindness go a long way. Let us treat each other with dignity and respect, love thy neighbor as thyself.
Thank you and...
