Domino's Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

I had an extremely disturbing experience at this Domino’s location. I came in at 11:20 PM to grab a small pizza for my toddler. As soon as I walked in, I saw an employee sweeping the floors. I walked in and apologized for coming in so late given that they close at midnight (40 mins later). I placed my order and paid and was shocked to watch the same employee go straight from sweeping to kneading pizza dough—without washing his hands.

When I asked him if he had washed them, he openly said “no.” Only after I asked did he wash his hands, but when I requested he wear gloves, he told me they didn’t have any. A food establishment without gloves? That’s unacceptable.

While the pizza was in the oven, he went back to sweeping/mopping the floor. Then, without washing his hands again, he pulled the pizza out and cut it—handling the food directly after cleaning duties. I was speechless. I should have just asked for refund and left but given that I was with a fussy toddler, my options were so limited.

This is a clear violation of basic food safety and hygiene standards. As a parent, I was truly appalled and deeply concerned. I sincerely hope this location takes immediate steps to retrain staff and enforce proper sanitary procedures. Food safety is not optional and I’ll be contacting the health department to report the basic sanitation violations here. I can’t imagine all else that’s happening here which we don’t see. Dominos is going downhill like titanic. Our family been eating here for at least once a week for 5 years now. And recently the quality is just abysmal. The portions are just smaller and smaller, Don't even think about getting the chicken wings. They jacked the price up, went from 10 to 8 wings and theirs literally 1 bite worth of meat on each one of those wings. We used to pay $30.00 for a meal for the family now its $47-50.00 with tip . One pizza wasn't even made to order. Or last order was 90 minutes late. Granted for full discloser it was a winter storm in the area and I can accept that. But the cheese was all frozen as well, and that's not acceptable. So I've really given up on ordering from dominos. Due to Covid we all have to be more tolerant of delays but when you paying a substantial amount of money more, getting smaller and smaller portions and then your pizza shows up cold. You just have to say sorry it was good...

Worst experience ordering pizza in my life.

Online ordering was good (as usually). When the Pizza Tracker said my pizza was in the oven I left home to pick it up. When I got to the store I encountered a store full of customers waiting for their orders. The monitor on the wall showed 5 pages of pizza orders in various states of incompleteness and mine was 49 minutes away from being made. I left the store to do another task and returned 1 hour later only to find I was now 15 minutes away from being made (not ready, not in the oven, not even started). Not only that, I noticed some orders had Wait Times of greater than 95 minutes.

This is not the first time this situation has happened to me. It is unacceptable and I will never order or return to this store again. I know a lot of the other customers waiting for their orders will do the same.
