Went for early dinner and was the only customers. Waiter was very nice but did not seem to knowledgeable about the menu. We had the fresh rolls for an appetizer. Bland without the peanut dipping sauce. Had the Pad Phed Pha. Mixed vegetables with shrimp. Was expecting spicy but it was not. Had a chili pepper beside it on the menu but for a Thai restaurant I expected more kick. I read other reviews where the server asked what spice level would you like on a level of 1-5. Was not asked. After getting our food did not see the server until we were almost finished. I asked about some hot sauce and then he brought over 4 different kind of sauces which were very nice. Again other reviews said they received this when they brought the food. So overall not happy. Food was average at best. Will not be going back. I need to find a new Thai restaurant. The one that used to be there...
Read moreFirst time getting lunch here. Got take out. Ordered Wonton soup and Pad Thai chicken. Admittedly Wonton is not really a Thai dish. Not sure what it was supposed to be but it was nasty tasting. No worries, I figured I was taking a risk ordering a non-Thai soup. On to the Pad Thai. Ordered it medium spicy. Came quite hot. I like hot food but I was sweating. Not a real issue except it was all heat, no flavor. In fact, it had no flavor at all. Just heat. The chicken was it was rubbery. No egg in the mix that I could see. Makes wonder if they just microwaved leftovers. I will never be back. How can a Thai restaurant screw up this dish? Having eaten at every other Thai restaurant in the RVA area I can declare this was my worst experience. Not only was the taste bad, it was expensive. Soup and Pad Thai was over $18 for lunch, not...
Read moreJust take all my money. The food is SOOO GOOD. My husband and I are both Thai and know what authentic Thai food tastes like. We have a restaurant closer to our home that we don’t love, so we ventured out to find this spot. Oh my gosh. The portion size was so big that I ate mine over 3 servings (my husband ate his in one sitting so take that as you will). The beef pad se ew seemed to get better every time I had it. I typically don’t like to get meat in my dishes if it tastes “funny” but the way they cooked the beef has me wanting to go back ASAP.
We also ordered cashew chicken, which I thought was a little heavy on the onion, but that’s just a preference. It was very flavorful.
The spring rolls we had are very similar to the kind my grandma and mom make. Definitely ordering those again!
Will be back...
