When I picked up my takeout order, I found that one of the meals had onions which I had requested to exclude. When I brought the issue to the host’s (Daniel? Receipt has his name on it so I’m going to assume that’s his name) attention he said that I never said to exclude onions and that I would have to pay for both the correct meal and the mistake.
“Not my problem”
What a wild response. I told him I am not going to pay for an extra meal so he charged me the initial amount. I was not rude, I did not curse, I did not yell, but I was firm. No way am I paying for an extra meal. I waited for the correct meal and when another server brought the meal out, she removed one meal (which I thought was the mistake) and replaced it. Cool. Whatever. Mistakes happen. The host isn’t cut for the hospitality industry but not my problem. Let the management figure that out.
When I got home, it turns out that other server didn’t replace a meal but actually removed a meal. And the corrected meal still had onions so I doubt they even did anything. Just wanted me to wait by the door. Guess the rest of the staff decided to get in on the drama and get the last word.
So I paid for four meals but only got three. I guess the staff must feel pretty good about themselves. I’ll just have to call my credit card company. Like I said before, let management...
Read moreI have decided I am going to do a rating of local Mexican restaurants judging them based on basically the same dish. It's what I usually get anyways. It consists of chicken and chorizo with pineapple, rice and beans. I also get queso dip for chips and wrap my chicken, chorizo and pineapple mixture in flour tortillas and dip them in the queso. Mr. Pepe did a great job. I was seated very quickly was given chips salsa and the white sauce quickly. Once I requested queso It was also brought to me with an incredible amount of speed. The queso dip was rather thin. I feel like sometimes restaurants thin it out with heavy cream to make more. I'm not sure if everyone is aware but it is simply melted white american cheese with cream and some spices. I looked over the menu to see if they had what I was looking for as a selection and they did not that in itself is not really unusual. However they did have chicken and chorizo I just requested pineapple. The food was good. I got it about 8 minutes after ordering. It arived nice and hot. It was a little greasier than I expected though. It did have a lot of chorizo and I'm sure that's probably why. The reason I gave this one 4 stars is due to how greasy it was and the thin queso. Other than that everything was as expected. Total...
Read moreWhat has happened to this place? Management has changed, all the servers have changed.
My husband and I have been going here for 10+ yrs. Not to mention we drive from Powhatan just to eat here.
Within the last 6-8 mons this place has completely changed for the worse. The service is horrible! The menu recently changed and prices increased, but the quanity and taste of the food went way down. I know things are high and the business has to make money, but you cant rip your customers off doing so. Dicing meat, shrimp, etc into tiny giblets to make it look like a large amount/same amounts that you use to serve is ripping your customers off. I ordered a texano burrito tonight without the shell and had them put it in a bowl. That burrito is usually so big its all i can do to eat half if that. Tonight the amount i received did not even cover half of the bottom of the bowl. The meat was cut up so tiny I could barely find it and it was maybe 2 shrimp total cut into giblets in the bowl. I mentioned my concern to the waitress and she acted like as if she could care less. Just bought me more rice. This one dish cost me almost $20 and $60 total for the two of us to eat. That's with one 1 beer, no margaritas.
You have just lost two very long time...
