Let me start by saying I initially went to The Don's Wood Fired Pizza, however arriving just after 8pm on a bright early summer night, I was immediately greeted at the door by a guy telling me they are closed for the evening, AT 8PM in Sumner! I thought he was joking at first.
Anyway I left there and headed over to Mikas Neapolitan pizza.. I had never eaten here so I thought it was a sign to try it.
I walk in and was immediately greeted by Nino. A VERY enthusiastic guy who was very happy to see a customer, even at 8:10pm.
I was immediately seated and handed menus and was informed of all of the specials for this particular day. I immediately noticed the high quality paper napkins. You know those large thick ones. For some reason you can get a very good read on how nice or bad a restaurant will be by the quality of the napkins. Typically exceptional eateries all pay attention to the small details, In this case napkins.. I knew it was going to be good place.
I ordered the cheese pull apart bread and French Fries as an appetizer, both exceptional. The cheese bread crust was phenomenal. Kind of reminded me of a croissant/pizza dough combination. it was both crisp and soft on the inside and full of flavor. And you could tell the cheese was a very high-quality cheese with beautiful pulls. The french fries were nice and crispy and had a very nice coating and sided with a cup of ranch dressing.
I then ordered the Carbonara pizza. It was also EXCEPTIONAL. The quality of meat (bacon) was very noticeable. Large chunks, not the typical paper thin cheap bacon bits. The cheese was delicious and also high quality.
What really stood out was how enthusiastic and knowledgeable and professional Nino was. I watched him provide the same level of service to all of the tables. I thought to myself, was this young guy the manager? it was very apparent that he took his job very seriously and was focused on providing exceptional service. We made small talk and I was shocked to learn he was only 20. You don't typically see this type of ownership and personal responsibility from employees of a pizza joint, much less from someone who's 20.
It was an overall exceptional experience. I thought to myself how lucky I was that Dons Woodfire pizza chooses to close so early on a summer night and lose business.
Will definitely be back and hopefully get...
Read moreOh, where do I start. Unfortunately, the service at this location has been going downhill for quite some time now. It all started when I put in a to-go order at 6:30pm for the food to be ready at 7pm. I arrived at 7:05pm and they couldn't find my food, and the host says to me "to be honest bro, I forgot to put it in". Ok whatever, I'll go to the bar and get a beer until it's ready (Meanwhile my fiance is in the car losing patience). At 7:35 the host comes with my food and I take it to my car. We ordered 5 items and checked it to make sure it was right. We were completely missing one of the items and 3 of the other 4 were completely wrong. Not a little wrong, COMPLETELY wrong. So we're upset and we talk to the manager and she gives us a $50 gift card for our problems. Whatever, restaurants have bad nights. We go again to use our gift card and this time we eat in for brunch, and the food and service was fine, besides the host that messed our order up last time was there sitting on the counter swinging his legs and on his phone the entire time (shocker). However, when it comes time to pay, we hand our waitress our phone's wallet to use the gift card. The manager comes back with the phone and says the gift card doesn't work and to show her the text message they sent us, and it felt like she was accusing us of trying to use a fake gift card. She says "Oh wow it even has our logo and looks real." Needless to say it did scan and work. You were the one that gave us the gift card because you didn't give us anything we ordered and we paid the full price. I tried to give them one more chance by Uber Eats to avoid them and just get the food and I ordered one pizza and they messed half of it completely up. So I'm throwing in the towel with this dumpster fire. It's a shame because I love the food but the manager and staff literally can't do anything right.
I worked at Fireworks before, but for a different location and don't feel the standards are...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Fire Works Pizza, and I must say it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. From the moment I walked in, the inviting aroma of freshly baked pizza wafted through the air, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The ambiance at Fire Works Pizza is cozy and welcoming, with a charming combination of rustic decor and a bustling atmosphere. My server was Laurel and she was not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu, helping me navigate through their extensive selection of mouthwatering pizzas.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the pizza! I opted for the Sweet Heat, and it was a flavor explosion in every bite. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy on the edges, providing an ideal foundation for the generous toppings. The sauce had just the right balance of tanginess, and the cheese was gooey and indulgent. Each ingredient tasted fresh and high-quality, making it evident that Fire Works Pizza takes pride in sourcing the finest ingredients for their pizzas.
What sets this pizzeria apart is their creativity in crafting unique flavor combinations. Whether you're a traditionalist who enjoys a classic Margherita or an adventurous foodie looking to try something new, Fire Works Pizza has a pizza for every palate.
The service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. Laurel seemed genuinely passionate about the food she served, and it reflected in the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Fire Works Pizza has earned its spot as one of my favorite pizzerias in town.
