Firehouse Subs 29Th Place — Restaurant in Virginia

Worst experience EVER! The owner Ben was extremely confrontational and rude from the moment I walked into the restaurant to pick up an order (3rd party delivery service). When I confronted him due to the rudeness and I did so in a respectful way since there were a few customers in the building, he was still incredibly rude and confrontational. Ben told me to never come to HIS restaurant again, which is the best advice I will ever agree to. I can not believe that after things are starting to get back to pre-pandemic levels that a person who represents a business is more than content treating their customers this way. My business will go elsewhere, and the word has been spread far and wide to do the same. A complaint has already been filed with their Corporate office (not that I see them caring much) and with the 3rd party delivery service that I will NEVER accept another...

First time to this place, past lunch rush and prior to dinner at 3:45 in the afternoon.. The sandwich itself was great. The bread was very fresh and I enjoyed it! The experience was disjointed. The floor was really dirty and there were 5 people behind the counter and one sitting and complaining loudly to a friend on the phone about how dirty the place was and why should she have to clean it when nobody else had cleaned it. She then got up and addressed the rest of the staff and sarcastically congratulated them for doing such a great job cleaning the floor. A lot of equally sarcastic comments said by staff behind the counter. While eating outside, a worker came and yelled (LOUD) for a worker who was taking a smoke break in the seating area around the corner. My friend and I cringed at what a weird experience that was. Things were hopping at this Firehouse Subs in Charlottesville, VA today (13 June, 2021) when I stopped by for lunch. Even though this location was offering customers the option to dine-in, I opted to get my order to go and sit in the parking lot simply because of the number of customers that were arriving and the limited number of tables available inside. I went with my 'go to' sammich today, the Italian Sub "fully involved" and add banana peppers, plus an ice cold Coca-Cola and bag of chips. The sub was made perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I went with Lays Kettle Cooked Jalapeno Cheddar chips today and they were a pleasant addition to the sub. They're not hot by any standards, but have a little background flavor of jalapeno behind the predominant cheddar flavor. They are definitely worth a try and I'll be looking for them...
