So after an early morning appointment, we decided to stop off at ihop for a quick homestyle breakfast, not just a drive thru. After waiting 15 minutes to be seated on a Wednesday morning, we could clearly see they were understaffed and the service was lacking, so we walked out and ended up down the street at the waffle house. I'll start off by saying we should have just walked out of there, too... They had the three booths that were full that bordering the food service area opening and the bar tops. This is ten o'clock on wednesday morning... One couple finally left, and the girl behind the counter with the long hair clearly had no desire to clean the table for us. I was smiling politely and eating as she smirked at us and grabbed a dirty rag that she had used to clean something else to wipe. The table off brushing everything from the table onto the seats before glaring at using her two pointer fingers to point down at the table and walk off. Like, I guess she was telling us we could sit down now. I had to get an app in and brush all the food that was on the seat onto the floor. Speaking of the floor, there needs 2 B A deep clean on the floor boards, too. While waiting 2 B seated, there was nothing to do but notice all the sticky dirt and crud and dust bunnies under the bar stools. Thankfully, the short haired waitress was very friendly and happily took our order so so things were starting to look up. While we were eating, an elderly couple walked in and like us, stood there, and waited for ten minutes or so until until another family left one of the other booths. The same long-haired drug her feet until she finally went over and started to clear the table. The elderly couple wanted to sit down, so they started walking towards the table, and the girl looked at them and said, "You gonna let me clean the table first?!" The little old lady looked shocked and backed up saying," Oh, sorry..." they stood at the door for a minute, looked at each other, and WALKED OUT! As they walked past me, I said "well that was rude of her. Good for you!" I was going off at that girl's attitude and her lack of customer service. Thankfully, the other girl saw the couple walk out and had a few words for the other girl... that waitress was the saving grace for what little positive review I can give here. The Texas Today sandwich was soft buttery and flavorful. It was my birthday and a disappointing...
Read moreOk- I rarely leave reviews and I've always really liked waffle house and have been a frequent customer, which is why I feel like my experience this morning needs to be noted. Starting with the phone call I made to place my order, i could barely hear the waitress (Cassidy is her name) on the phone due to the extremely loud background noise, and to make matters worse the girl on the phone was hardly speaking. It was as if this girl was dozing off, or on some extreme downers and could barely stay awake or even talk. I had a coupon for 5$ off a menu item with the purchase of a menu item, but was told I couldn't use it bc none of the items I got was 5$. Anyway, when I show up to get my order everyone was very unorganized and it was as if no one knew of a pick up order or wanted to wait on me or even ring me up. Finally I got help and I asked to add on 2 fountain drinks to my order which I was then told I had to go back to the end of the line so the girl can fix my ticket. ((A pen and paper ticket )) then the sleepy girl literally spent a whole 3 mins jotting down my 2 drinks. So finally I get my order and get to the register and my order was wrong. Now, this is understandable, I also work in a restaurant, but all I had was: 1 plain waffle & small hash browns. How simple is that?! I was over the place by this point so I didn't say anything, and i got my bill (finally) and it was 11$!!!! For 1 waffle, small hash browns, and 2 fountain drinks?! That would make each of my items about 3$ each. I didn't think about the price until I had left and it was on my mind bc of how strange the girl acted when she took my money. Not to mention this girl tried to pass on my order more than twice, not wanting to make my drinks , hand me my food, or ring me up. I think this store would benefit greatly by letting this waitress go, turning their music down for better order taking (bc they really do get something wrong with my order every time) , and by creating some structure and...
Read moreStaying at the hotel up the road for work, so we've been frequent customers here, for about a month and a half now. Food and service is always great, we usually get our food to go. Tonight was different. I was really upset at the service by the waitress, Tonya, tonight. We come in and sit down and order our drink and order our food to go, like we've done every time before. We sit and wait for our food to be cooked and before we leave I asked her if I could get my tea refilled, and she refused. Not only did she refuse, but when I was confused about why everyone else has refilled my drink before I left except her, she responded with "that's everyone else job! I ain't about to lose mine!".... Because refilling the drink I paid the same price for as if I were eating there, would get her fired. She then went on to "inform" me that it's a policy not to give to go refills. Trust me I know the policy's I've worked there. And I told her that. Now if someone came back in after leaving with a to go cup, that's different. But I never left the store. And she was rude about it. I really don't want to go...
