Giuseppe's Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

Do not order from this restaurant. Me and my company have been ordering from here for many, many years. I tried to order online. It would not take my order. I called my husband since he had never ate there to place an order inside since the website was down. When my husband went in, they charged him DOUBLE! My husband was then told he could not have his money refunded to his account, we had to take the food. And I could not put it back on our card. I would never recommend them just due to the terrible customer service and the food quality has even changed! Wow... and the manager, she's one of the rudest managers I've ever spoke with ( and I don't usually have to talk to many managers; maybe a handful in my lifetime, because most are very professional and kind to their customers and appreciative of the business) screaming and yelling on the phone. I can match that by far! She then calls me back and proceeds to yell again. I don't know what she said because I overyelled her! I won! So we just had a good old fashioned yelling match! VERY PROFESSIONAL... but, again... I'm not the one that owns the restaurant....

I ordered their 2 pizza special online, at first selecting a cheese on one and pepperoni and sausage on the other. Still on the same call, I canceled that and went with one cheese and one pepperoni, received my number and went up to the store to pick up the pizzas. I opened the box up to see two pepperoni and sausage pizzas. When I called back up to report the mix up and was told that I was wrong and what I have is what I ordered. I told the employee, that's not correct and reminded them what was said and confirmed over the phone but told again that I was wrong. This went on for a few more back and forths before I was finally asked, "well what do you want then?" I told them that I wanted the pizzas I ordered, which they agreed to make. When I entered the restaurant, there was no greeting, no apology, not one single word to me by anyone. They just handed over two boxes (the correct order), took the other two, refunded the over charge for the extra toppings and that was it. The pizza was okay, but considering that I've had better, I'll take the cost to get the better pizza over...

UPDATED August 2024: Changed from 4 to 2 stars. The new location is so uncomfortable - no more booths, very bright lights, very loud radio, TV’s all playing incredibly inappropriate tv shows (Jerry Springer types). All the cozy and charm from the OG location is gone. The pastas that used to be $7 are now $13. Sodas are $3 and free refills aren’t included. The service issues remain.

We’ve visited numerous times (10+). There’s never been a wait. The prices are fantastic - pasta with a salad and bread is around $7. There are a ton of specials. The food is average to slightly above average; I enjoy the manicotti. The pizza is maybe a 6-7 out of 10. Good place for a family meal. The one con for me is that service just isn’t good. I actually took a photo tonight of a server openly texting while we wanted refills and she had several other customers. I won’t post to publicly embarrass her, but Giuseppe’s - talk to your wait staff about texting and playing on their phones while your customers need attention.
