The 1 star rating is for the service we received on a Saturday night (Feb 11). We came in for dinner and were seated at a table & given menus. We gave our orders and waited about 12-15 minutes. The server came back and said she was told by the manager not to put our orders in yet due to the backlog of orders. I asked how long it might take and was told about 10 minutes. In the meantime, she took our orders for drinks while we waited. Another 25 minutes pass and no updates from the server. While waiting, we noticed numerous customers who ordered on-line were coming in and leaving with their on-line orders. I get the attention of the server and ask if our orders have been put in. She replied, "not yet and asked if we're still willing to wait or if not, just pay for the drinks and return another day". Seriously? After waiting for 40 minutes and seeing on-line customers come and go with their orders? I think customers who make an effort to go to the restaurant to eat should have priority over those who order on-line. It was also poor service in my opinion to still have us pay for our 2 drinks after a long 40 minute wait, no food, and see on-line customers come & go with their orders. As we were leaving, another couple came in and were seated without being told they will have to wait. Another opportunity for the manager to provide poor service to customers hoping to...
Read moreThis was my first time at an ihop in the Richmond area. I chose this location because it was the closest. I went and was greeted. That’s a plus. Before I knew it, I was called to be seated.! Less than 10 minutes. My waitress was attentive but busy. I ordered the pumpkin spice pancakes, side of bacon and coffee. The bacon was brought to me cold and I had the young lady take it back. The pancakes were nice and hot. I started to eat the pancakes and I realize something was off about the taste. Granted they’re supposed to taste like pumpkin spice. These pancakes were off. 5 small bites in, I said nope not eating these. I should have given them back to the waitress but I thought just forget it. That’s half my breakfast right there besides the bacon. I left the waitress a tip and I left. When I say from the time I got into the car and about 30 minutes. My stomach started swelling, my abdomen started cramping. The first thing I said to myself, it was those pancakes. The pancakes tasted like they were made with dirty water or stale mixture. I tried ginger ale , tums, water and by 11:30 pm I was still in pain. I will not be going back to this ihop. First experience has left a lasting impression that kept me home and near...

My wife and I recently dined at the IHOP located at 7714 Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond, VA, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
Service: • Wait Time: We waited nearly an hour for our meal, observing two sets of customers who arrived after us being served before us. • Waitstaff Conduct: Our waitress was discourteous, slamming a partially filled coffee cup onto our table. She then brought powdered creamer separately, which was perplexing. • Food Delivery: Upon expressing concerns about our delayed meals, only my grits were brought to the table—cold—while my wife’s meal was still missing.
Management Response: • Two managers approached us: a female and a male. Their demeanor was unprofessional; one appeared bewildered, the other smiled inappropriately. • The female manager offered to check on our food but both departed and did not return promptly. After waiting an additional five minutes without resolution, we decided to leave.
Overall Experience:
This visit was profoundly disappointing due to the subpar service, lack of professionalism, and inadequate management response. We hope that IHOP addresses these issues to prevent future patrons from enduring a...
