I hate to leave this review because we have been to Jimbos many times before and enjoyed our experience. This review is to call to the attention of management the staff on 8/27/2023. We came in around 130 on Sunday and were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess. She promptly seated us and promised a server would be right over.
Unfortunately we proceeded to sit there for 15 minutes (not an exaggeration) while multiple servers and bussers walked by and ignored us in a mostly empty dining section. We watched as four servers congregated in the back of the dining area engaged in conversation as we looked over hoping they would come over. We listened as one server loudly complained that "she wasn't even supposed to be there that day" and was "operating in a lower gear".
The straw that broke the camels back was the servers proceeded to bus the table next to us and behind us, still with no one acknowledging our presence in the dining area. A simple "hey I'll be right with you" would have been enough for us to stay but no such gesture was offered.
Even as we got up to leave, as it became clear the staff was not interested in waiting another table, no one asked if we needed anything or tried to apologize or ask us to stay.
I realize many might read this and think "oh the Karen's didn't get acknowledged" but I would ask you to consider how you would react being completely ignored for 15 minutes in an empty dining area. I'm hopeful the management will read this and coach their staff so that they don't lose more paying customers who were going to gladly spend $75 bucks on lunch that...
Read moreAte at Jimbo's for the first time. I kept my expectations low for a sports bar, but it far exceeded even neutral expectations.
The restaurant was clean and not overly dark. The twelve TVs in the bar had a wide assortment of sports, news, and a food channel. The volumes on the TVs were pleasantly muted, and great 80's music played, also at a volume that didnt split the ears. People conversed, but they didnt yell to each other from two feet away. A very polite clientele.
I ordered the Swiss Burger which was excellent. The meat was cooked slightly more than the Medium I requested, but not so much that I would send it back. The charring on the outside was very good. The bun was high quality and held together very well despite the juices pouring out of the meat. The burger came to the table stacked high with lettuce, grilled onions, tomato, swiss cheese, and my added sour cream. All of it was fresh and delicious. I had to press the burger down with my hand, like a Panini!
Their hand cut French Fries were superb.
The staff was highly attentive, and several people helped me rather than have one do it. They refilled my iced tea promptly and asked whether everything was good. They were not stingy on the napkins and got it just right.
Overall this is a place I'd love to visit again. I passed up their daily special pastrami sandwich, which I will order next Monday. Their prime rib on Thursday sounds inviting as does their Saturday and Sunday brunches with my favorite: Eggs...
Read moreI’ve heard many good things about Jimbo’s over the past several years and finally got to try it for lunch with the family on a weekday. Getting there soon after they opened, they weren’t busy, but by the time we left, they were moderately busy. The menu is loaded with good eats and according to the server, nearly everything is made fresh, in-house.
The server also said they won an award for their wings, so we tried a batch – Half were spicy dry rub and the other half were Thai chili. Both were very tasty! The actual wings in the wet sauce, the Thai chili sauce were double the size though, which was odd. The server did an amazing job describing their Filet Mignon sandwich which is done on focaccia. She said the focaccia is a homemade rosemary style and this sandwich was amazing! The tenderloin inside was so very tender and perfectly cooked to a medium! The hand cut fries that came with it were great too.
Service was great! The place is basically a sports bar. Overall, definitely enjoyed the visit and look forward to the next time I’m back in the...
