it’s painful for me to say this, i’m filipino and I would really like to find a great Filipino restaurant I can be proud to tell people to visit, but this place was a disappointing food experience for a first time checking it out. the food is just bland. no flavor, it sounds so mean to say it but the chicken metchado Bland. the veggies was bland. got the loganisa with egg. comes with one slice of tomato and lettuce. the loganisa was decent but the egg was not fresh the rice was not warm. also ordered two skewers chicken was too thick and probably wasn’t even seasoned correctly coz their is no flavor inside and both pork/ chicken skewers were cold. prob I would come back to get halo halo that’s it I don’t think you can even messed that up. overall service was fine you get the typical love and respect, for me I hope they put more love on flavoring our filipino dishes coz this one ain’t it. my wife who not even filipino was so excited after seeing the picture but we both left disappointed spending $40+ and not have a single satisfaction.

Last month, I ordered catering from Kababayan Filipino Kitchen for a "despedida kamayan" celebration honoring Filipino interns, young professionals, and mentors. John was incredibly kind, considerate, and helpful in planning a full menu for 35–40 guests—with just three days' notice! He even made the delivery over 20 miles from Virginia to D.C. We ordered: - Lumpia - Pancit - Lechon Kawali - BBQ Skewers - Longanisa - Sisig - Turon - Rice Everything arrived warm—despite the commute—delicious, and most importantly, authentic! Everyone *loved* the food. The customer service was outstanding, and we couldn’t be more grateful to John and the entire Kababayan Filipino Kitchen staff for making the event so special. In terms of both service and flavor, Kababayan is definitely our favorite Filipino spot in the DMV. 10/10—highly recommended - Please support this local Filipino spot if you're in the DMV! All of the food was like the ones from our homes; can't wait to visit and order from here again :)

The vegetable lumpia here is absolutely the best I’ve ever had! Each roll is perfectly golden brown, with a crispy crunch on the outside and a fresh, flavorful filling on the inside. They serve it hot and fresh, and the dipping sauce on the side adds the perfect touch! Not only is the lumpia outstanding, but the portions are generous, and the quality is consistent every time. You can really taste the love and authenticity in the cooking! It’s just like homemade. If you’re looking for true comfort food and a taste of authentic Filipino flavors in Woodbridge, this place is a hidden gem. Whether you’re Filipino and craving the taste of home, or trying lumpia for the very first time, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend ordering extra because these go fast!

Food is great but the service is not. I used to order "catering" from here for years but the service/pick up process just got worst when they moved. Unlike other food businesses, for some reason, they do not have a separate line for catering order pick up. I was told though by one of the staff that if you pay for the order ahead of time, you can avoid the long line and can just pick up from the side (since you can skip the cashier). That's what I had been doing for catering pickup since they moved to the new place until one day, 7 months ago, there was a long line of customers and the owner embarrassed me just because I insisted to pick up my already paid catering order in the same manner that I was told and had been doing before. He made me look like I was trying to cut the line and doesn't want to wait. But that wasn't the case. As the owner, he could have resolved the situation in a much better and professional manner rather than embarrassing his customers. Anyway, my family stopped coming to this place because of that incident. I hope they improve their customer service and come up with a better system for handling call catering pickups; otherwise, they will continue to lose long-time customers. Great customer service...

I used to come to this restaurant before they moved to the new location. The new location is very spacious and dining area’s ambiance is very nice, very cozy. But I will tell you this, food doesn’t taste the same anymore. The homey grandma taste is gone, most of the food taste bland, some of the food tasted great. Customer service is nahh, no consistency, the front house ladies that serve food aren’t very friendly. Sometimes they are friendly most of the time naahh, not sure if they profile people based on their looks or they’re just tired for long day of work. I just asked for brown liquid sauce for my meal that the lady forgot to put in my to go bag and she gave me an attitude after requesting if she can give me the other sauce instead, saying she cannot give it to me, for the meal I got I can only get one sauce and she already gave me two. I just left because I will look stupid repeating myself. Menu that they post on google and on their screen doesn’t reflect some of the things they offer. Apparently Crispy Pata is pre-order, I didn’t even know it’s in the menu without asking the lady. Their...
