I’m not one to review, but this one was a disappointment. Went today for cinco de mayo. Saw this sign as we walked in and decided to order from the deals. Ordered our drinks, and got them at a normal speed. Then, however, we waited 20 minutes to order food after finally getting our drinks. Food came relatively quickly but was very bland and dry (my “hot plate” was definitely NOT hot). We asked for guacamole and cheese sauce to sort of spice up our food, but it still hadn’t arrived to our table 30 minutes later. By this time, we had eaten everything because we were tired of waiting. we’d already been there for an hour.
The bill, when requested, came to us in literally 30 seconds (I timed it) and INCLUDED guacamole on the bill price (the one that we never received). Also, the cinco de mayo deals were not applied to our bill. after asking for that to be fixed, we were told it starts at 5, but the sign never stated that- it says 5th of May so we paid extra for our combination meal and margaritas than we should have, and were there for an hour and a half of very poor service. We didn’t receive some of what we ordered, waited for forever, and were billed for things we didn’t receive. We had our kids with us, so I’m sure we’re not as exciting, but we definitely werent rude customers to be ignored. Part of our group had to leave before ordering because we’d already been there 20 minutes and not gotten to order and they had somewhere to be. Our waiter didn’t even approach our table for food orders till he saw them getting up.
Worst service we’ve had- and to be clear, we arrived around 3. It was absolutely not peak busy hours and there were plenty of open tables- there’s no real reason for such poor service. We didnt tip because it wasn’t worth it. It’s the first time we’ve eaten somewhere and not tipped, actually. We used to love this place, but not so sure right now. I sure hope Jeronimo can get better at his job and earn some tips soon. And that your signage is either more clear, or you honor...
Read moreI was quite impressed with the food, and La Chona playing twice in the span of 9 minutes made the experience twice as enjoyable, given the shared inside jokes our party had with the song.
My issue lies with my bathroom experience. I finished up my burrito, the delectable "Burrito Jimmy" with steak and chicken, smothered in tomatillo and cheese sauce, and headed for the bathroom.
I was greeted to a nice clean bathroom with one toilet stall and a urinal. I set myself up for business in the stall. Not even 15 seconds had passed when the door outside opened and 2 individuals entered.
One couldn't imagine the horror and sense of existential dread I felt when i watched as one of the individuals' shadow casted under the stall, and the shadow slowly lowered until I saw a pair of knees, and hands, as the individual got on all fours. A little white boy peeked under the stall and attempted to inform me he needed to use the bathroom. Me, trying my best to distance myself from a small child invading my very vulnerable personal space, start swatting and kicking at the child, but he persisted in checking on me, continuing his haunting chant, "I need to poop." I told him it seems like he's quite the predicament, but that he will be forced to wait for me to finish.
At this point, I was so wildly uncomfortable being in the same room as this unruly hell raiser, that i just pinched it off, put my hood up, and mentally prepared myself to avoid any contact of any kind. Be it eye contact or breathing in the same air, I was gonna have as little to do with this child as possible.
I opened the door and not only was the child, but also his older brother, who is a horrible chaperone by the way, blocking my path to the sink, so I didnt even get to wash my hands.
When I got home i took a scorching hot shower after a handful of bio-hazard decontamination sessions.
By the end of the whole ordeal, my roommate downing an $8 margarita in 7 seconds was definitely the highlight of...
Read moreGreat food, service, not so much. The restaurant wasn’t busy and I was seated right away. Once seated I was given my complimentary chips and salsa in which the salsa was very flavorful. That’s where the quick service stopped. I waited a good 10 min before someone took my drink order and before I could get out I was ready to order he was gone. He came back and dropped my drink off while passing so another missed opportunity, so I waited and waited. I finished my drink and finally someone came by and took my order. The food came out fast and I finished another drink and I waited and waited. I was finished with my food and was still waiting for a refill. There were a lot of employees standing around conversing, but not focusing on customers. I received my refill the same time I asked for my bill.
Despite the slow and lacking service, the food was very good. I had the fajita burrito and it was loaded with flavors. Another plus was their homemade hot sauce. A lot of Mexican restaurants have homemade hot sauces that you have to ask for, some are good and some are real good, theirs was amazing. Five stars if I had...
