Mi Jalisco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Virginia

A year ago this was a five star place and one of my favorite to eat. The place went from amazing to lower than mediocre in less than a year. The food used to be hot and fresh, with friendly and attentive staff and is now the staff were missing most of the meal, when you asked them for something they looked annoyed, the menu is misleading, and they don't pay attention to any special requests. When we went today (3pm on a Saturday) there was only one other couple in the place and the service was still horribly slow. We ordered the steak super tacos, which used to be strips of steak and when they came they were definitely ground beef. The waiter tried to explain that they now cut the steak into tiny pieces, but this was ground beef not much better quality than Taco Bell...for $12 for 3 tacos that's not acceptable and definitely not how it is explained on their menu. We decided to order something else, and went with the carne asada which was barely cooked, and I stated twice that I did not want guacamole (I have a severe allergy) not one but twice, and the plate came with a huge pile of guacamole anyway. We had to ask for utensils, twice, and no one came to refill drinks or check the table even once despite there being only one other table with people. I normally give a place a chance, but this drop in so many quality areas at once is a huge red flag. I won't be returning sadly because it's not worth the price anymore compared to Mexico Restaurant a couple...

Love this whole in the wall Mexican Restaurant. Food is awesome always served quick and hot. Service is excellent very friendly, they are always keeping up with everything you need. Never forget about their tables remember you as a customer, very prompt. And the prices are excellent, honestly we love Mexican food, go to ALOT of different places, but i can tell you we will drive 30 mins out of our way just to eat here because the service is excellent, staff is awesome and the food is great and they have white sauce (which so many places no longer carry) LOVE LOVE LOVE this Mexican place, we are always recommending it to our friends for a great place to try many of their dishes are so much better then the bigger Mexican chain restaurants. Great drink specials . We have met with the owner and he is great, very friendly out on the floor makes sure all the customers are waited on promptly. Only thing i would suggest we never go on Taco Tuesday it is just to crazy in there very busy, but great outdoor seating too. Honestly hands down one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Richmond area!
