My husband, myself, and my 2 kids (almost 2 year old and 6 month old) went here for dinner last night. We were seated right away in the back corner of the restaurant, probably because of the kids, which is fine. But the service was unimpressive. My husband accidentally knocked his drink over and it poured across the table onto me feeding our 6 month old. Not a big deal, it was an accident. But there were 3 employees, including te manager, standing at the bar watching us scramble to clean it up as it poured all over my seat and the floor. Our waitress even dropped off my salad at our table and walked away while I stood feeding my daughter, covered in soda without saying anything. We cleaned it all up ourselves, which isn't a big deal. When the waitress dropped off our food she asked me if I needed a refill (with my husbands glass pretty much empty having been poured across the table), I said yes. Then a little later she came to get his too. But the fact that no one even asked if we needed help or everyone was okay or even came to refill his drink is not something I have ever experienced at a restaurant before. Then our food arrived and it was really rather bland. We both got burgers and fries. It was plenty fresh. The fries were decent. But the burgers didn't have much taste. At the end of the day a burger at hardees has more flavor and is half the price. We won't be returning because we felt ignored as if we were an inconvienence the...
Read moreUsed to be a decent place to have a cider and fish and chips. Walked in twice now in the past 6 months and all the staff are new and very poorly trained (old staff were part of the reason the place was great). The restaurant was not busy and we arived around 5 to for dinner as we had an event at 7. The first time the waitress forgot to put our order in, we reordered and 40 minutes later our order came out as not what we had ordered. Ate it anyway and was unimpressed as we were late for an event at that point. No apologies from the management who was sitting on a barstool within earshot. When the bill finally came after a ten minute wait it was incorrect, and we had been charged for what we had ordered as well as what we were served incorrectly. This was with more delay sorted out. Found out that it was under new ownership and chalked it up to growing pains. 6 months later we decided to give it another chance. Was seated by the same waitress we had had the first time. Asked a few questions about the menu (the menu does not change daily) and the waitress had to go to the kitchen for answers. Ordered two ciders (the main reason we went back) and we were informed that it was no longer on the menu after many years of ordering it. Made the choice that it would probably go down hill from there and went...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the food. We went back today for our 2nd meal. It is a nice little hometown restaurant where many locals seem to go. Both times, there has been just one waitress who stays busy, so expect to do a bit of waiting. At least these two trips, it was a good thing we were not in a hurry. We have only been for lunch, I don't know how busy dinner can be. It was a little too loud for my 87 year old mom. We had to turn her hearing aid down. Their fries are skinny and cooked perfectly. I get the onion rings and they were also very good. You get a decent portion, so you should not leave hungry. Both times, husband got the crab BLT. His bacon was crispy the first time and limp this time. I've had the shrimp pubboy and Buffalo shrimp wrap, both delicious. Mom had the chicken Ceasar wrap and said it was "amazing" which is her favorite word. We will go back, my husband wants to try the rueben. I usually get water and put a sugar free packet in to flavor it. Both times it tasted funny, so I don't know how the...
