I feel like it is important that I share our experience at this place. My wife and I took our kids here because the reviews looked decent and we wanted Italian food for a change. We walked in and it was empty around 2PM on a weekday. There was a girl cleaning tables and a lady in the back who we assumed was the manager. Nobody greeted us. The manager was on the phone in a heated conversation with someone. I walked forward looking for a sign that said seat yourself. The manager broke away from her phone convo to say “you can sit anywhere you like”. So we had our daughter pick out a table and sat down. In the meantime, the manager continued this heated conversation and even raised her volume. My wife said “I don’t know if I want to listen to that while we eat.” I was patient and said let’s give it a chance. We reviewed the menus that are under glass in the table. Couldn’t help but notice this place was charging premium money for their food compared to other places. Food must be awesome right? So the manager came over to take our drink order (still on the same phone call). We asked for 2 diet cokes and a water for our daughter. She didn’t seem to understand what we asked for. She left, resuming her yelling on the phone. My wife again said “should we leave?” I said let’s see. When the manager came back with the drinks she kinda threw them down on the counter and walked away….still on the phone, yelling. There was no water for our daughter. And our daughter who is 3 looked confused by the way the manager was acting. When she walked away, we decided to leave. She saw us leaving and didn’t say anything. She was still yelling at someone on the phone. Must have been a really important phone call I guess. We won’t be back. Can’t honestly recommend this...
Read moreMy wife grew up not too far from here, and when she was a kid, she said they came to Sal's all the time. Although not sure when but she said that they have definitely changed ownership since she's been here last. She really wanted one of their cheese pizzas. Even though it wasn't as she remembered and a little different, she said that it was still pretty good. She said that the sauce is a tad sweeter now than what it used to be. I thought their veal parmesan was excellent! I don't know why, but my daughter ended up ordering their chicken noodle soup, but she didn't care for it very much. She did enjoy the mozzarella sticks, though. Service was pretty good, and it definitely has a mom and pop feel to it, and it looks like they have a new bar area that seems to be the new in fashion glowing lights and such. They have quite a few specials that are going on. Very solid...
Read moreTraditional, classic pizza. They have been there a long time, and I can see why. Their dough and sauce and cheese are fantastic. The sausage is not a crumbled sausage. It is thin sliced but very good, and all of the toppings are fresh. We almost always get the Sals special; it is quickly becoming our Friday night tradition, and is usually ready in less than 20 minutes. A large pizza feeds three adults with leftovers. They are always hustling, as it's is a true mom and pop style establishment with a large carryout business. We have dined in before; they have a good selection of classic Italian dishes and a decent bar with some local craft beers. Located in a busy, old shopping center that can be a pain to get in and out of, which is why I only gave atmosphere 4 stars. You won't be...
