Sparrow's Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

It’s not very often that I take the time to write a review, but this place truly deserves my time to share how amazing this place is! First off, we order pizza often from here, always once to twice a week. We’ve tried nearly every speciality pizza they have and they are all delicious. It’s hard to pick a favorite honestly, (ok, it’s probably the chicken bacon ranch pizza YUM!), but we ALWAYS have to add an order of garlic knots! But the pizzas…the crust, fresh vegetables, real bacon, the cheese, the sauce.. it’s all incredible. This is the best kept secret of Richmond for outstanding pizza! Now, about the service (this is what prompted me to write a review)…Just tonight, we ordered an extra large pizza (with knots, of course!). Pizza came quickly, sitting down to eat it and we spoke aloud about how we thought maybe we didn’t get an extra large…about half way thru the meal, Mike (Mr. Sparrow, I believe) CALLS ME and tells me he’s realized he made a mistake and sent a large pizza instead of an extra large (exactly what we were wondering, but HE CALLED US FIRST!!!) But wait a minute… He is sending out another pizza WITH cheesecakes! What!?!? In this day and age, good customer service is hard to come by. But this place goes above and beyond! As I’m typing this, new pizza, 2 cheesecakes, and a slice of chocolate cream pie has arrived! Unheard of!!! I’m impressed! Clearly, unbelievably fabulous customer service!! Sparrows pizza is amazing! I read good reviews from an ad being shown on Facebook, google, and yelp so I had to try this place out. It was a little hard to find the place because it’s kind of hidden around some pho restaurants and it’s kinda of behind a 7 eleven. When I walked inside the owner greeted me and the amazing smell filled my nose with hints of dough and sauce. I love that kind of smell so much. It’s a little place, but they make some good pizza. Today I went in for the first time and just due to it being so so so hot outside it was kinda hot inside since the pizza ovens don’t help the situation. I walked in and ordered a 10 inch Hawaiian pizza, and I sat and waited so the owner told me I could have a drink on the house. That was really nice and I really appreciated it. I waited about I’d say 10-12 mins tops and I took my pizza home. I have nothing but good things to say about this place, and when they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, this is definitely one of those situations. The crust was crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside, the sauce had great taste and seasoning to it, the cheese was super gooey, the ham was delish, and the pineapple was juicy and yummy. All the flavors really complemented each other and I honestly wish I had bought a bigger pizza because I could have kept eating more, so I’ll definitely be...

Thank you so much to Sparrows Pizza for helping my boyfriend & I (who live in California) get a pizza to his sister after she was in labor for 49 hours with her first child in Richmond. He told me sending flowers and a stuffed animal was overrated. His sisters one food group is pizza. She lives, breathes, and eats pizza. Hospital food sucks so we looked up a pizza joint that had the best rating, landing on Sparrows. The owner Michael was as understanding and nice as he could be. There was a credit card snafu he took care of right away for us. After I told him the pizza I wanted I told him the location of where she was, little did I know there were two hospitals with the same name in the area. He assured me he would drive to the other one to make sure she got her pizza. This is their first official family photo and they said the pizza was DELICIOUS! There were so many comments on this on Facebook. Everyone loved the pizza. It was as beautiful as their new baby girl. Thank you for helping us make an amazing day...
