TAQUERIA Y ANTOJITOS EL CHIDO #2 — Restaurant in Virginia

I was super excited El Chido opened near my sons school in Henrico. I am a big fan of their original location on Staples Mill Rd near Willow Lawn. They have a huge selection of real Mexican food. This isn’t Tex mex with chimichangas or food with yellow cheese. The menu is extensive with tacos, gorditas, huaraches, birria, and if you are really hungry ,order Tortas. I ordered 3 tacos of steak, chicharron, and carnitas. All 3 tacos were delicious and were $3 each. The tacos are packed with flavorful meat onion, cilantro , and cabbage. I’m not a fan of the cabbage and they tend to add it to everything so I recommend asking for no cabbage. The gas station looks tiny from the outside but is bigger than it looks and the ordering counter is inside to the right. Ordering is easy(can also order online) and they actually bring the food to the car when it’s ready. There are a couple outdoor tables to the side so you can enjoy the food outside as there isn’t any seating inside ….Simply this is authentic Mexican food , for a good value , and with easy ordering and pick...

I ordered 2 vegetarian tacos for myself and 4 other tacos for my friends. All 6 tacos were included in one package with the vegetarian ones on the bottom. I could not eat them because meat fell all over them. I called the restaurant and they said there was nothing they could do. I suggested that if someone orders vegetarian tacos they should be packaged in a separate container than the meat ones. They let me know that I should have included that in the comments on my order. This seems like standard practice that different items ordered, vegetarian or not, would be separated in packing. On one of the meat sets of tacos, a friend had requested no cilantro, yet all 6 tacos had cilantro. They said I could go through DoorDash. DoorDash told me I could not get a refund. This was a very frustrating order and a waste...

I have been going to chidos consistently the last 12 months since you guys are right behind my house (literally beg my partner for it) and at first I was deeply in love with the birria tacos because the flavor was on point, on top with the amount of beef would be left in almost 20oz big ol cup of consume. DELICIOUS! However, the last few times its been inconsistent and little to almost no beef in the consomé. Now, im given a pint of consome with just some onions and cilantro :( I understand that times are tough rn (i do) but I rather pay a higher price with a consistent portion or plating :( tacos still delicious but my heart completely gets played knowing I am not getting consistency and progressively receiving less of the original...
