I have been to the Roanoke location on Electric which is closed, and now recently this one in Westlake. This one is just about the same as the one that was in Roanoke. Friendly, courteous service and excellent food. The owner Mei is her usual oddball self. She's a very americanised chinese woman. She's eccentric hence saying she's an oddball and she's so americanised in fact, that she cant even speak her native chinese language good anymore. She even admits that. She says her whole family has lost touch with China. I guess that happens after being in another country for as long as they have. Their whole family are oddballs. Her sister Jenny randomly talks about anything, and their teenage daughter Jessica is a little anti-social from what I've seen, but she likes to talk about random stuff too. I met Meis daughter Jessica twice at their Electric Rd location. If your looking for good food and random, fun service from Mei and her crew, come to Teriyaki House. The food will certainly...
Read moreI had been visiting the Westlake Library next door and decided to give this place a try. Teriyaki House was excellent! I had the Hibachi Chicken and it was MOUTH WATERING! I loved every bite. I'm not sure why this place and the owner seem to get so much hate... I asked the people at the Library next door about it before coming and they said "Ignore that place...the owner is a weirdo and the food stinks". I asked a neighboring business too about it and they said some bad things about the owner, Mei, too and they said the food was awful...just like the people at the library said....I didn't get to meet Mei, but I thought the food was excellent! I don't know what made those people call the owner Mei a weirdo and say her food is bad.....but I think people shouldn't talk so negatively about the owner and the food. That's seriously not cool to talk about people and call them weirdos.
Try Teriyaki House. I bet...

The family and I dropped in for an early dinner. Despite the early hour and being Christmas Day, there were already several groups eating in the restaurant. By the time we left it was quite busy. I have been to quite a few Asian restaurants in my life and this one is pretty good. It leans a bit towards the Chinese side but they have quite a variety including pad thai and hibachi (Japanese) dishes.
The food was good. What I particularly enjoyed was that it did not seem especially oily - something that I find frequently at other Asian restaurants. Despite only one person working the front of the house, service was courteous and prompt. Food delivery was well timed from appetizer to main course. The front of the house appeared to be clean and well kept. Overall I have no issues with the place. Thank you for...
