Cancun Mexican Restaurant & Grill — Restaurant in Virginia

attending this restaurant was an experience I always enjoyed. this place has amazing food and wonderful alcoholic drinks! I used to come to this place every weekend and used this as my gateway to escape reality. my boyfriend and i decided to go to dinner here as i would show him my safe haven i found for the past two years. the FIRST visit was amazing, the SECOND was great too, EXECPT for the fact we waited forever to get the bill becuase the waiter was to busy cleaning other tables when the place was empty and we asked 3 times for the bill, and once we got the bill we paid in cash and handed the waiter our money and thanked them (not a big deal to us) we still tipped well.

...OUR NEXT VISIT WAS HORRIBLE!!! we walked in about a week later, sat down and the same waiter accused us of not paying for our food in front of the entire place and had another coworker, a women belittle us as well. we were extremely upset as the man left to go make my drink (the same one i always order) he also knew my drink I ordered by heart. we noticed him take my made drink back away from the bar into the kitchen, (like he was going to mess with it), (why else would you take a drink out of the bar area away and across into the kitchen) at this point my partner and i were fuming and got up to leave. i told the women who worked there we will be attending another place for dinner, and her response was “yea you should good idea”. meanwhile the place has cameras and if they checked those cameras or didn't harass their loyal customers maybe they would have more business. very shameful and disappointing this place will never be on the top of my list again. My family and I go to the lake sometimes on Saturday or Sunday... sometimes both if we have time. We all decided we would eat mexican last saturday. This review is a little late. But I still remember everything. We were seated politely and quickly and given our drinks. The owner Honorio zaragoza, actually greeted us and told my wife she looked familiar.... though she had never seen him in her life. He hurried away with an embarrassed look on his face after apologizing saying he had the wrong person. I ordered 2 burritos and 2 tacos. My wife ordered a taco and 3 fajitas. I can't remember what my mom and my dad ordered but my son ordered 2 tacos. I immediately noticed something that wasn't supposed to be in my burritos... a metal piece underneath the burritos on the plate... like aluminum foil! I don't know how they missed it.. I told the owner, the Honorio guy... he replied to me "its no problem you can remove the foil, ya know" with a "I DON'T CARE" attitude. We should have left.. but we didn't. We ate and I ate, after getting a new set of burritos. They still charged me for the burritos and also, My son heard one of the staff telling that Honorio guy... something along the lines of "wow, thats all they did was complain" in spanish. But my son can understand spanish! We won't be...

Recently tried this place with a friend while I was on the lake....Pretty good food but we were not particularly impressed. I was told I would eat authentic mexican cuisine here. Honestly I don't think this is anything close to authentic mexican at Cancun!! Not even close.... fairly similar to other mexican restaurant cuisine in the Roanoke area..... Lets just say I was let down.... Also the staff were not particularly friendly either... I happened to meet the owner. He walked over and introduced himself as Honorio. Asked us if we were enjoying ourselves. We said yes and continued eating. Upon leaving, this guy called me a pet name. Called me buddy. I just ignored it didn't think anything of it. but then he said it at least 2 more times. Hope to see ya again, buddy!! Thanks buddy!! Almost obsessively. I said ok bud, appreciate it. He didn't like that. Gave me a pretty dirty look...Haha. Obviously he likes to dish out, but cant take it.... I don't like condescending people like that. Kind of irritated me and gave me a negative impression. Most likely will not be...
